Well not long after writing my introduction I secured my first game against
Daemonicus.
This was a Chaos Team of Beastmen - no CW, no Troll - with two games already under their belt.
I would like to say at this point that the coach
mano82 was superb. Very Friendly and chatty throughout. We suffered a disconnection and worked together to get the game reloaded and finished.
In all honesty had the dice fallen more favourable for Mano then this game would have been very different, as it happened it was a very fairly played and deserved draw. 1-1
So what was the biggest thing I learnt from this game?
This was my first proper attempt at caging as described here in the
GLN .
I can say that my first attempts seemed to work ok. I was patient, perhaps a little too patient. But it worked and it took some time before i was under pressure to move the ball out. My second attempt worked much better, despite only having 7 players on the field.
My concern came from when there were four defenders in front of my cage and little option but to try and block my way out, against a more bashy team it might not work.
Defending against a cage was different. I will have to read up on this some more before my next game, as my defence seemed to be too weak.
I can very much see the benefits of caging against a team of similar abilities/stats as myself, and a slower team might have more difficulty, though higher strength teams would cause me more issues through attrition.

Shawn Michellas - Thrower Completed one pass and scored the VP - giving her a skill roll.
I took
Block over any passing skills.
My theory for this is that with Block she can hold her own when tackled a bit more.
No other player skilled up but three other players earned SPP's.
FF stayed the same
90,0000 in winnings - (which i havent decided what to do with yet)
