A couple of years ago, in my un-enlightened Cyanide days, I was creating an elf team to play in a league. Playing around with the team creator I came across the white kit, and a lightning bolt for a logo... and remembering how the "pro" elves are basically the cider-drinking tramps of the elf world, White Lightning were born.

Or rather, White Lightning were born, since someone had already stolen the name with the normal number of spaces in...

Fast forward a few months, and I had a badly-painted team of 2nd edition elves losing games at NAFC, and I'd even come up with a naming scheme for the players, rather than just the rubbish that BB:LE gave me. And it stuck onto FUMBBL too.

But - and now the "point" of the blog - I've noticed a worrying trend.

First up were my ranked team... who lasted 2 games, before a couple of deaths (catcher + blitzer) lead me to retire and remake them. Next were my team in the box, who are still going after 6 games but in that time have seen 3 deaths, 3 -AV, and a niggle. Finally, there is my (soon to be ex) WIL Fringe team, who in 3 games suffered 3 deaths (including my 2 catchers), 2 -ST (including my +AG thrower), and a niggled blitzer.

So my question is: what have I done to invoke Nuffle's wrath? Why is this team in particular taking so much damage?

Interesting note: the name White Lightning was of course already taken, by an old wood elf team... who played one game, and were retired with a dead wardancer. Maybe its not just me? Does Nuffle in fact just dislike poor-quality cider?
