New Team - Vanara, Monkey People of Ind
A recent entry into the world of Blood Bowl, the Vanara are a race of human sized monkeys, a less blood thirsty cousin of the Beastmen. Each Vanara is gifted with a a tough head, a gift of the wilder roots, and a tail that seems to have a mind of its own. The team also has access to the much larger Bandar, whose bearlike features dwarfs all but the mightiest man, the Markata, small and nimble and barely smart enough to play Blood Bowl and the Orangataur, a calm beast that needs much prodding in order to take part in the game

Vanara
0-16 Linesmen 6/3/3/7 Prehensile Tail, Thick Skull G/ASP 60K
0-4 Markata 7/2/3/7 Dodge, Stunty, Right Stuff A/GSP 60K
0-2 Thrower 6/3/3/7 Prehensile Tail, Thick Skull, Pass GP/AS 80K
0-4 Bandar 5/4/3/8 Thick Skull, GS/AP 100K
0-1 Orangutaur 4/5/2/9 Loner, Really Stupid, Mighty Blow, Thick Skull, Throw Team Mate, S/GAP 120K
Reroll - 60k

Strength - With wide access to Prehensile Tail makes this team tough to dodge away from. The Bandar make a strong player, whether as ball carrier or as basher. Finally the Markata are almost as fast as the Skinks, but benefit Right Stuff, allowing them to be thrown into the far corners of the field.

Weakness - Only the Orangutaurs have an armor of 9, most of the team only has a 7 armor, making it easy to break. Thick Skull helps a bit, but you'll find a lot of players stunned on the pitch. Even the Bandar has only an armor of 8. The players are also more expansive then the average with 60K. Their throwers aren't the most effective, carrying skills like Thick Skull and Prehensile Tail. Finally, without Sure Hands or Block, a lot of rerolls will be used up until the team skills up.

I like monkeys (who doesn't?), but the Markata seem too expensive. They are just goblins with +MA. Or as you said, slow skinks with Right Stuff. Maybe it's just me. I do like all the prehensile tail and thick skull, though.

i kinda like the idea but i suggest the orangutaur be made a little bit different form the generic big guy build
why not 4/5/3/8 Loner, Really Stupid, No Hands, Thick Skull, Disturbing Presence, Prehensile Tail, Throw Team Mate,

the no hands so he can't become a ballhandler with his ag3 but he is able to reliably chuck the little markatas as you'd expect from a giant monkey. plus he gets his tail back in exchange for his MB and loses his av9 but gets disturbing presence for survivability.

I'd also like to see a star player called "Coco Nutter"
3/2/4/8 Loner, Sure Feet, No Hands, Thick Skull, Prehensile Tail, Right Stuff, Stunty.
this guy can't score but he should be pretty good at being thrown directly at cages

I think the team is fine... except they shouldn't get Throwers. No access to Passing Skills without a Double isn't so bad. They bridge that Gap between Orcs and Lizardmen.

I'm always glad for the feed back. I appreciate it.

Flashback - I understand that the markata seem expansive, the are a little over priced. According to the newest formula by Tom, their real cost should be 55K, but you can't have 5K costs, so you have to round up. 7 movement is better than 6 movement, because it means you can outrun most linesmen on most teams. A big plus if you have the ball.

Kenthis - I like the star play.
As to changing the Orangataur... Well, he can't be an orangataur with a tail, that just doesn't make sense, they don't have tails. And being able to pick up players buy not people would be hard to explain. I like the idea of making the big guy the greatest teammate thrower every though. I'll work on that.

Catalyst32 - Why no throwers. Is it because chucking a fast player down the line, and then chucking the ball down would be super uber? Or the ability to fake left and then run right? I guess I can understand, but if we got ride of the Throwers I would want to make up for it. Either a different positional player, making the bandar slightly better (6 Movement, but 110 cost) or a better Orangataur with Pass. Something like that. Still, keep up with the comments, and maybe we'll come out with a team that people will want to play.

I think ag3 on the Bandar is a bit high for what is already a quite an agile race, drop it by 1 i think

So, how about something like this

0-16 Linesmen 6/3/3/7 Prehensile Tail, Thick Skull G/ASP 60K
0-16 Markata 7/2/3/7 Dodge, Stunty, Right Stuff, A/GSP 60K
0-4 Bandar 5/4/2/8 Thick Skull, Big Hands, GS/AP 100K
0-1 Orangutaur 4/5/2/8 Loner, Bone Head, Mighty Blow, Thick Skull, Throw Team Mate, Pass, Big Hands - 140K

Vanara - Linesmen with Prehensile Tail to hold people down, but easily beaten down with AV of 7.

Markata - The Ball Handler of the team, which can be thrown to the ends of the pitch by the Orangutaur. I might make them titchy with Jump up.

Bandar - Large tailless subspecies of the Vanara. The tough guys that seem part bear/part Gorilla, all muscle. They have large hands that make it easy to take the ball in bad weather.

Orangutaur - The big guy! With Big Hands and Pass, they, unlike other big guys, can be trusted with the ball. With armor of 8 though, they aren't to hard to knock down, and with 4 movement, it takes them a while to get anywhere. They are one of the best Team Mate throwers in BB!
