The only way is up
So I have spent a lot of time playing Goblins and Halflings. Combined with my lameness at bloodbowl, this has led to my CR being 134ish.

Whilst I am not too bothered by this (people always seem to want to play me in Ranked...), i was wondering what the best team and the best way would be to get a boost of the old CR. I'd quite like the project of getting back to 150 before playing gobs and flings again.

What do you think? Which team and where? I'd rather avoid Chaos dwarfs if i'm honest, so the most obvious seems to be dark elves?

Thoughts, comments and 1 ratings welcome.

I'd consider Skaven in the box. They're squishy, but gutter runners are so good at actually winning games.

Lizardmen basically can't lose in Blackbox under 1400tv

Orcs! (Iv thought you didn't care about CR. Keep it low and you'll always have games. I see no point in raising in on purpose. Getting better at blood bowl though is a good reason. Dark elves should help you with that.)

Pro Elves are awsome in the box, but they require a coach of middling to high standard to use well. If you fit in to that catagory use them.

Otherwise Lizardmen, yeah, they are stupdily good in the box unless you get badly diced.

is probably the best advice ive ever read. Ever.

Well if you want to become competitive I would suggest playing Box at low-ish TV, there are various teams which are very good at that, pick one and only one that suits you well and try to improve with it. Skaven, Orcs, Lizardmen are all very good suggestions. Norse and Zons also come to mind.

Or you make a Wood Elf team in Ranked and play only vs. unskilled Chaos and Chaos Pact teams of coaches with a CR below 140, which is pretty lame but almost guaranteed to work. ;-)

I've had a similar run after playing ogres in the box.
In my experience, just by stopping playing them will help a lot.
Other than that pro elves works for me.

this team looks like a win-win.

...but I don't like it.

Cool. In the first instance I might play this team a bit more, and maybe replace the rat ogre with a lineman.

And as I've not played lizardmen or dark elves or pro elves before, I'll start a team of each of those guys in the box too.

Best way to improve your coaching rating mate: play more against me ;0

you might just aswell continue to play gobbos and flings and try to improve your CR with them.

That's the only way it would really mean something in the first place.

I keep hoping this will turn into a "The Only Was Is Essex" blog...

boo for this not being a blog about leap :P
Really though, what (non-stunty) team do you think you'll have the most fun with? Pick one, go with it and get good with it.

The other option is to keep playing stunty teams but to pick your opponents a bit better. That will increase your win% too, although it's less fun.

I have given up worrying about CR. Just play to have fun man! Set yourself team targets perhaps instead of making it back to 150 CR, then losses may not be as annoying and you might stick to your preferred playstyle rather than changing to sneak a result.
