Why am I here on FUMBBL again?
Once upon a time we had something called the GLN here. It was a proper news magazine for Blood Bowl. You can still read the back issues. It is excellent stuff — and I don't just mean what I wrote.

In those days, people doing something big on FUMBBL could be invited to do something we used to call an "interview". These days, we don't need interviews, we just flame and troll like crazy (while claiming to be a sage of all things) until all novelty is obliterated and we can go asleep assured that no one is having fun on the internet.

Back then, I might have started out my project with an interview with the GLN. The dear-departed Mezir (but he became a vampire once in a forum thread, so don't worry, he's fine) would have asked some questions so that all could be revealed.

Instead I get pressured from all directions by people who've lost their ability to express themselves: it's been burnt away by the fires of the digital ruckus. They would like to ask something like: "Who goes there? (Quo vadis?)" "Who's that clip-clopping over my bridge?" "Why isn't this already a .pdf I can digest easily?" And so on. If they would be straight up and ask questions like that, I would answer them. But they don't/won't/can't.

Even those, like pythrr and harvestmouse, who are excited by the project and expressing that, struggle to post in a way that is straight-up and honest.

For most of you, all it is, is that you are feeling territorial. I understand. This is an oasis on the internet. Even when things are at their worst, behaviour here is a lot better than in so many other places because good moderation is still practised here. On top of that, it still uses standard '00s era Swedish design (which many other parts of the internet world are desperate to smash because it is cheap and cheerful while looking stunning and ruins their plans to extort money for websites through planned obsolescence).

There's nothing wrong with having a strong instinct to defend FUMBBL (if that's what you're doing), but take it easy.

No one is screaming.

The Computer is your friend.

Please answer your own question, why are you here on Fumbbl again?

The GLN still goes, PGoo looks after it now and I believe has one in the pipeline. Message him with details and you might get a spot in it to layout your ideas. Rather than doing it as an interview it might be worth writing it up as an expose piece instead.

When your being very, what shall I call it? Extroverted? Open-Minded? and posting multiple times, you have to expect to get reactions or even criticism back. You can't insult people who disagree with you, by calling them territorial, you can, but most likely your ideas would not be listened too.
It seems like you got back into fumbbl with the wrong foot first.
plenty of people are having new ideas, nothing wrong with that, but you ideas doesn't make it more special that anybody elses. They also have to tackle criticis, and none of them got their ideas approved by the community in a great and revolutionary/radical way, like your Ideas are. note that I personally approve of new ideas, but they need to be presented right, or they will disappear in the criticism, flaming and trolling that exist on the internet.

Nextflux — this site used to be a much chiller, more open-minded and easy-going place. We had a wonderful period where so many coaches were pulling together to make this a great site for "noobs" to get into the game without harassment or being steamrolled.

These days, a lot of people seem to be treating FUMBBL as their last internet bastion and refuge, so it's understandable that they see anyone coming down with big footprints as a threat to their home.

I don't need any advice on presentation: in due course, the stuff in the forum thread will be compiled into another separate nice, peaceful thread somewhere. For now, I have my riot gear on. Don't worry, I've been flamed before and survived. Tzeentch likes me, you know. ;)

Projection is such an interesting phenomena. People feeling territorial, in fear of big personalities, and unable to clearly express themselves, eh.

The territorial remark was spot on, IMHO.

I didn't really want to get into your discussion, but your statements are really out there.

We have the Faculty of Academy & 145.

I like rules discussions. I like has-beens returning. I even like attitude. But if you have a ton of attitude but get really upset when getting some back... that's just kind of sad. Still, welcome back, I guess. I hope you find a niche again.
