Fumbbl Donation Poker
It has been noted that some of Fumbblers (Peter Thorpe) and maybe some other too are into poker. So Im here to ask if there would be interested enough people to run fumbbl donation poker tournament (of course this would be fully fanbased activity and nothing to do with the fumbbl itself).

What I was thinking would be $2 (+$0.20 rake to the site) tournament on PokerStars (yet again Im very sorry for american players who cannot take part of this due the Black Friday but PS and FTP are only sites I know have easy access for private tourneys like this). Every Fumbbler taking part of this would hopefully donate atleast $2 to fumbbl along the buy-in for this poker tournament. For legal reasons this will now be mandatory, but very desired.

So, in basics, this would be "Home Game tournament"
for buyin fot $2.20 restricted for you and fellow fumbblers. Payout of top 20% (max it can be on home games) and voluntary donation to fumbbl.

No one else than PokerStars (for the rake part) and Fumbbl (for the voluntary donation) will take any profit for such tourney.

So if youre interested in such event and have or can open PStars account for this, comment on this blog or PM me, if there is more than 10 interested coaches and Ill start PM thread for best possible time that would suit best the most.

Even if Fumbbl isn't officially involved, once Christer accepts that donation he might get in trouble with Paypal. Not recommended.

Eh, you are missing the point. The player participating is the one making the donation. It does not differ from any other donation any coach makes. This would only be one activity that ENCOURAGES someone to make donation.

"every Fumbbler taking part of this would hopefully donate atleast $2 to fumbbl"
if it seems unclear, this is NOT mandatory, as it could make it illegal.

Remember you dont need to be pro or even semi-pro to join this, this is ment for fun and those of us who have played some, will take this as fun tourney, alhought the grand prize will be fame and glory amongs fumbblers. I for once, who have played quite some online poker, will promise to take moves that I would not do in normal tournament, because this is just for fun, and if i would end up in prize money, it will be donated to fumbbl.

Does pokerstars have bonus codes or similar you want to know about before you sign up?

This could be fun, count me in! :D

This sounds like a good idea, and i'd be interested.

I'd suggest setting up a game as you suggested, but with no direct affiliation to FUMBBL; we can simply use the honour system to pledge a PayPal donation to the amount of our winnings *if we so choose*

No negative fallout towards FUMBBL that way, far as I see.

For anyone interested in PokerStars deposit bonuses, they always offer a bonus to first-time depositors, and currently have a %50 up to $200 reload bonus (code: SCOOP). (I am in no way affiliated with Stars or the above promotion, which is freely available on their website.

Black Friday will have put paid to any US players from joining, but if the desire was there, I'm sure a game could be organised on one of the unblocked .net affiliates with donations pledged.

Will send pm to everybody who has showed interest later this week to decide details together.

As Juff said, this will be just fan based fun event and its not mandatory to make any fumbbl donation even thought its highly encouraged to do so.

Those who dont have PokerStars account yet, the sites default bonus is good deal as there is no rakeback deals for PokerStars. Of course it wont hurt to google for sites that offer same bonus and maybe some extra if you plan to play more.

Just noticed that one of the networks that have had huge growth after Black Friday which accepts players from United States too is Merge and atleast the Merge site I use (PlayersOnly) offers custom tournaments too, if there is more players who would like to join but cannot for these reasons.
