Don't be tempted by those little words "would you like to use a sponge to remove a niggle".

Eventually they will get the better of you, and make you forget that it's against league rules (in WIL at least).

Alas, poor Beatrice. The awesome ball carrier, the team will be less without her...

Tough breaks! Almost every league I've ever been in has a comish who would be honored to have their league be exciting enough to warrant use of such a prize. But following whatever the rules are in the league is the way to go. ;)

I'd allow it in a heartbeat. Sucks to lose the spongeworthy player AND the sponge that way. Maybe you can have an admin undo either/both?

Don't mind about the sponge, had it for ages without using it. No problem with having to retire the guy, my mistake. Mods couldn't apply the niggle again, not within their power. Not a complaint from me, a salutary tale!

Also the player's bios says site rules (which should be league rules, right?).
