I started playing Blood Bowl right at the moment that LRB4 turned into CRP on FUMBBL, and FUMBBL is all I know of Blood Bowl except for the exactly 6 tabletop games I played prior to joining up. Thus, for me, CRP is effectively all I know (except for those 6 TT matches). And since I started playing on FUMBBL, had no idea who anyone was or what the hell I was doing, I played my very first ranked games in Black Box. And guess what? I still really enjoy it! I started with bash (it’s more forgiving on a beginner) but now I play 98% of my games there with elves or humans (go Human League Premiership!). I’ve actually never had any issues with Black Box, but maybe that’s because I am a man with no past, nothing to compare it to.

Except for those 6 games. For I was weaned on 3rd Edition rules + Death Zone expansion and came to FUMBBL assuming that’s just what Blood Bowl was. So! Remember: Dirty Player used to give you +2 to both armor AND injury rolls, and you only got caught if you rolled doubles on armor (at least, this is how we played, there is a chance we were doin’ it wrong). Coupled with the cards (remember that one that gave you an entire extra turn after the half ended? It was amazing!) we were talking some crazy games. Ah, good times…
