This weekend I had three days off from work. I planned a hot date for Sunday evening, another (with a different gal) for Monday, and Tuesday I had time to do my grocery shopping and a few things around the house. I also planned the Lustrian Challenge qualifier for Monday afternoon, and the OBBA Div2 final for Tuesday afternoon. It looked like the perfect weekend.

Sunday, while stopping for gas on the way to my first date, my car broke down. I managed to limp it home, but had to cancel the date. I convinced a buddy to come by and drive me to Autozone to pick up parts I would need for repairs. We got what we needed, but had to get tools from his shop, so we planned to handle the repairs the next day.

Monday morning, I won my round 1 Lustrian Challenge Qualifier. A little error by an opponent is all it takes to make a Slann coach a happy coach. Sunday Girl agreed to reschedule, and it looked like the repair would be finished in time for my date Monday night. But the part from Autozone was the wrong part. DAMNIT. And the only place that had the right part was on the other side of town, of course, and would be closed by the time I could get there. So date #2 was also cancelled. And by now, that grocery shopping I was supposed to do was becoming an increasingly desperate situation. Dinner Monday: a bag of peanuts and a slim jim from the local 7-11 store.

Tuesday morning, I woke up and blasted through the OBBA Div2 final after a critical dropped pass by an enemy wardancer, stealing the division from Duke Tyrion and Azure. I killed that same wardancer in the process- securing the coveted title of Killer of Most Mens from my rival, Team Fantastic's ThePeoplesChamp. My buddy came by a little later, we drove around and got what parts we would need, rolled out the floor jack, and two hours later, the car was roaring like the racing snail that it properly is. Monday Girl agreed to reschedule. Hope is restored.

The grocery store is now closed. Starvation again seemed imminent. But I just found a can of preserved Makerel. Touchdown! Fish for dinner it is! B SIDE vs FATE: I win 3-2. A fitting end to a less-than-perfect weekend with no forced turnovers.
