Clarification to the previous blog entry.
Ok, since I think my previous entry was misunderstood, I'll try it again to explain what I meant.

I just wanted to hear an opinion if you think that the randomness of the client can be compared to the randomness when playing the TT.

What I wanted to say is, that I think 2+ rolls are not failed that often if rolling real dice. Sure it can happen when playing the TT but my experience is, that it usually doesn't happen that often as in the client.

Why I am stating this? Because I trying out different teams to see which one I want to play in the league. And why I mentioned the streaks of bad luck is simply that I think the feeling of playing say a team with AG 4+ is doing better in the TT than on Fumbbl. Maybe I am wrong, but that's what I intended to get an answer for, not that it is another boring whining blog entry ;)

Hope I found the right wording for it now ;)

It's in your mind. Rolling 'real' dice makes no difference.

There is no difference at all...Its just the selective view that makes you think you are rolling less ones . It is proved. Just try to pay some attention in your games on ANY Dices rolled and you will soon see its balanced.

Thanks for the answers.

I will pay closer intention during the real games.

You might want to look at this, he KNOWS about dices :)

Why you will roll more 6s then 1s on TT
On Fumbbl, you dont have those kinda dices. You have almost pure randomness :) Go fumbbl and the dice rolling client :D

How long did it take you to complete 100 games on TT?

You seem to have done it here in about 6 weeks.

Is it that your good/bad luck is just condensed into a short space of time rather than spread out over years?

I can't remember having rolled so many snake eyes or having seen them rolled during the TT.

But yeah, it might be true that I am just paying it special attention while playing on here.

I am not considering bad blockdice here though. Just actions with a "regular" D6.

lol why worry about it dude? Just look at the quality of those replying to you and you'll see they aren't the most respected coaches in the world! And that includes me WOOT!

I've already commented on the other message, but about the dice...

I'm willing to bet my right hand on the fact that the random number generator FUMBBL uses is -MORE- random than whatever dice you might be using at home. Look at the links Ehlers posted, they contain a lot of truth (you'll have to look past the obvious sales talk though, but that's not a big deal). Also, look up the Mersenne Twister on wikipedia to see how the Java client handles it's random numbers.

Any indication that FUMBBL is less random than TT dice is most probably just in your head.

is it ok to use words in the blog you are explicitly forbidden to use in the channel?

@wreckage: Fuck?

If your dice don't roll as many ones on the board game as they do in the client, it means your dice on the board game are not balanced properly. Randomness on the client is as close as it gets, and definitely more random than most dice out there that you can buy.

Thanks to p4m for pointing out that I can actually see the number of rolls in the .log file.
