If this site was open to under 10 year olds, I'd leave.

If you liked playing strategy games when you were 8 or 9, congratulations, so did I. With my (2 years older) Brother, and friends my age. If I ever went up against an adult (or older teen), I expected to get slaughtered, and realized they were doing me a favour.

3-6? You should be fine sitting on Dad or Mom's lap and being allowed to roll the dice/move the guy/click the mouse, or play Checkers or Sorry, or even Risk. Something relatively age appropriate.

With a game with as many different levels as BB, including "invisible" tackle zones, wizards, skill combinations, skill choices, player purchasing, modifiers, if I am playing someone under 10, I am either slaughtering them AND bored, since I can't point things out, and explain rules as we go. They lose, and don't know why, OR their parent is basically telling them what to do, in which case.... (see above re: sitting on lap).

McMagnus had a nice, polite set up, making sure people knew they were competing with a child, and that was good of him. It violated the rules. He was made aware, HE doesn't have a problem with it.

This is one area you cannot confuse real-life and the internet, in real life you would KNOW your opponent was a child, and react appropriately (I hope), online you might realize it halfway through, or get investigated by an admin because one player was totally illogical, or any number of other, irritating things.

Is 13 the absolute, perfect age limit? Who knows? I could probably enjoy plying against some 12, 10, maybe even 9 year olds. But, as it is a marked age in many countries (PG movies for instance), and is common on the internet, it works. Open to all ages would make me leave.
