I have been catching a lot of flak for my 187 Murder Cup, a TR 187 KO tournament in League that has banned dwarves from entering due to my personal dislike of dwarves.

I completly understand that some people might dislike banning an official race from entering, but what I don't understand is how people can be so very provoked by it simply existing that flame wars break out every time I advertise for it.

League is supposed to be the division for privately run tournaments, and me gathering a group of people who dislike dwarves isn't really bothering anyone else.

On a personal level I can be quite amused by someone hating me over creating my own tournament and running it the way I prefer, but out of principal I strongly dislike how some people take the right to tell others how things are supposed to be run. I love League and the many private tournaments there and I think it would be sad if people got discouraged from starting groups and tournaments by comments in the chat.

It would be nicer if people showed some appreciation to people engaged in the League division, because they are just trying to make Fumbbl more fun. The more diverse leagues and tournaments that exists, the more people can maximise their fun. The puritans still have Ranked and the official rules to rely on, so they won't be disturbed by leagues with "house rules".

If it was Christer or an admin telling me that banning dwarves is against the rules it would be a whole different manner. But being called a douchebag because I created the tournament is something I suspect that some people would find very offensive.

I hope this blog entry will be food for thought for some of the veterans here that can often be a little arrogant towards people just because they are used to the official system.

For the ones that dislikes dwarves, or who just want to play a fun KO tournament where dwarves aren't around, I strongly recommend joining the 187 Murder Cup.
