I got the tickets as birthday present this winter and have been looking forward for it the whole spring. Last night I went to my first Iron Maiden concert at the Bråvalla festival in Norrköping Sweden. It was really great, they still have some energy these old men!
This has really been a dream come true, I'm not a metal-head (as you can see), but I've been listening to maiden since my first encounter with music as a child in the late 80's.
The gig was great and they played mostly golden oldies, started out with first half of the record "Seventh Son of a Seventh son" (the scenery was the icy blue from the cover), then there was some songs from Powerslave, the obligatory "The trooper" and the sing-along friendly "Fear of the Dark". Some songs from Number of the Beast and some really old ones from the first couple of records. Also quite satisfied that it was so many long progressive songs!
Up the Irons!
