WOT IZ SR?

Let me inform you how official tournament changes affect
SR. As you might know, the four Ranked and the three Blackbox major tourneys got merged and cut down to four mixed tournaments, namely WO, UI, CoS, and GLT.
SR is based on the best 18/12 tournament performances for coaches/teams. However one tournament has to be FC and another one has to be XFL/XFL Masters. Naturally, this won't change.
Currently 6(for coach)/3(for team) tournaments has to get from the R and B only majors as well. As with the cut of the number of majors, this has to get reduced. The three majors which goes are:
WoC - points live from 2017-05-22 to 2018-11-18
BC - points live from 2017-07-31 to 2019-01-27
LC - points live from 2017-09-11 to 2019-03-10
Note that points of these major tournaments live for 78 weeks (one and a half year) as their title will not get taken by subsequent winner.
However, the reserved slots of coaches has to get reduced as there will be only four of those tournaments this year to participate in instead of seven. So, one year after BC the reserved coach slots of these majors decrease to 5 and one year after LC they decrease to 4. In simple words, until 2018-07-29 it stays at 6, from 2018-07-30 to 2018-09-09 it will be 5 and from 2018-09-10 it will be 4.
Team slots will not change.
Here is the updated slot group table.
Note that a good LC result will be still part of the points until 2019-03-10. But a bad result will no more displace a better minor result once the major slots got reduced.
Another thing worth noting is that the determination of the division of a team might get increasingly wrong soon. SR do not check for the divisions of the teams directly as it would require two extra request + handling per match; so it only gets the division of the match. In mixed tournaments this indicates the division of the team with more than 50% probability as it is 50% accurate if met with a team of different division and 100% accurate if met with team of same division. So what we do is to check which division has majority in the matches or if the tow divisions are equal then we take the division of the last match. Same method gets used for the race of a team. I was satisfied with this system as it allows smooth transitions where the new value has to get majority to be in effect. For example, this system prevents to get immediate top position in another divisional ranking with a Borak transfer.
However with all official tournaments becoming mixed, this method will be unreliable to determine the division of a team. This might be not a problem as division of team gets less important in the new tournament scene. Getting the division of the team would require too much of my time but I can't say I won't code that some day, but not soon, that is sure.
