My Necro team is playing in a 145 Club tournament and ran into a big bag of disappointing doucheness tonight.

First, my opponent and i had resumed a match we started a few days ago but didn't complete after we got disconnected.

Now Koadah had given us an extra-long extension to complete this match as we had both expressed that we wanted to finish it.

On the first turn of the restart (we are on turn 5 of the first half) my opponent moves his ghoul next to my werewolf and then exclaims in dismay as he realizes that he previously used his blitz before the disconnection.

Then he fouls my other wolf and stuns him. Now he tells me that before the disconnect he KOd my werewolf with a foul. I didn't see the foul last time but as the disconnect was my fault (I was having comp issues) I take his word for it and say I will roll a d6 in IRC (bb d6) to see whether or not i can set him up on the next kick.

As he passes the turn he then asks me to please leave his ghoul alone (the one standing next the non-stunned werewolf) because he only moved it there because he thought he had a blitz left.

Like a total sap, I don't move an assist in and block his ghoul with the clawed wolf. Instead I just score with the wight to take the lead.

I roll a 1 in in IRC chat for the "KOd" werewolf and leave him on the bench during the set up.

A couple more turns go by and he strings together some nice rolls to tie the game a couple turns later.

This time, I roll a 3 in in IRC chat for the "KOd" werewolf and leave him on the bench during the set up. By now my other werewolf has been badly hurt and my dirty player was thrown out of the game on the first foul. But according to my opponent the 'dice gods are smiling on you' because I managed a pushback on a -2d block.

The second half starts (I set up the werewolf even though I rolled another 1 in IRC chat, enough is enough. I know... I'm an evil person) and there's a big scrum in the middle but eventually one his wights pops free and dashes for the endzone. Fortunately my werewolf was able to hunt him down and knock the ball out of his hands and into my wight's.

This is turn 6 and I just didn't have anyone deep enough downfield to score, especially after my short pass to the ghoul didn't work out.

1 hour and 36 minutes since the restart (!!!) the 2nd half ends in a 1-1 draw. Time for overtime.

Why so long you ask? I'm with you brother. I have no idea. My opponent exceeded his 4-minute/turn limit every turn. By game end he had 9 of his 15 extra minutes remaining. I repeatedly asked him to play quicker. He said his computer was lagging and that's why he was so slow. But I had just finished spectating his previous game while I waited for ours to start and he was not playing that slowly in that match.

Anyway.....overtime....

My opponent has 1 more player than I do and a reroll, of which I have none. It is a full half, not sudden death, so things look in his favor.

I'm receiving so it's not all bad but still it will be a good battle to see who wins. That's when he drops the bomb.

Are you frakking kidding me? Not only did he take an obscenely long time to play 10 turns and then tell me he couldn't continue because it's 1 am there, his excuse for it was totally lame!

And the excuse wasn't they had to work or go to school in the morning, or any decent excuse that might have been acceptable.

No the excuse was (i wish i had gotten the direct quote) something like it was 1am so he wouldn't be able to concentrate enough for OT.

Gee thanks buddy. Not only did we make Koadah and every one else in the tournament wait an extra week to finish our game (thanks for your patience everyone!), and I went out of my way to be sporting and fair to you during the match when I didn't need to, but now you're telling me that you can't finish the game and that you've just wasted the last 1hr36mins of my life and kept my girlfriend waiting all for.....a friggin' coin flip!

Grrrrrr......it pisses me off!

One of the worst things about this (or funniest) is that during this chat I hit 'print screen' to take a screenshot to have some proof of the chat and the game state. But as I mentioned earlier I've been having comp problems and right now I can only run Windows in debugging mode and I don't know if Print Screen button does something different when in debugging mode but it totally froze my system and I had to restart my machine!

so in actuality he can say I disconnected. by the time I logged in he was already gone.

Sorrry about the length of this blog. I had to get this off my chest so I could move on and forget about it.
