Again, mixed successes. My High Elves keeps performing well. The earnings of their second game enabled me to get player #12, another passer. Together with the apothecary I bought, I will hopefully be less prone to an heart attack while playing with them. They managed to trounce a Chaos team 2-0. Some chaos players seems to believe that theirs starting players can manage a slugfest, but they are mostly a bunch of S3 guys with a skill that only one can use every turn, at best. Surrounding them with fast elves and beating them into the ground was not only surprising, but also rewarding and worked well. That's a lesson I'll keep with me if I start up a Chaos team.
The other three games didn't go as well, though. My Orcs got beaten 0-1 against a recovering Rotters team. It was close at times, but his guys were simply better at the slugfest that it turned into. While it just added to their poor results (3/4/5), it felt like it could have gone both ways.
The same can't be said about my poor amazons. They lost two games badly and suffered a ton of casualties while doing it. I was dumb enough to take up a challenge from a CD team, who beat me 1-2. Even worse was the game after that, against Khemri. They only had eleven available players, so I hoped that quickly taking out the skeletons and swarming for TD's could get me the game. But after some severe dice rape and lots of passed regeneration saves, I ended horribly outnumbered and suffered a NI on a linewoman and got my star catcher killed, a crippling blow to the team. They are now at a humiliating 2/1/6, and I doubt they'll ever be doing better with me at the helm.
But as long as at least one of my teams are doing well, I guess I can call it progress.
