The losing streak continues, but with new twists as I meet new teams.
I've been trying to get a Lizardmen team going. It has not gone that well. They started with a very entertaining and very bloody game against a human team. I lost 1-2, and both teams were very badly mauled. I ended up having to buy a new skink instead of an apoth to get even close to a 11 men setup. In the next game, a tied game against HE, another skink died. With the third game I went for a recovery match together with a DE team that had also lost a few players. I lost it 0-2, and pretty much didn't stand a chance. No skinks died this time, only a NI on one of them, but the injury means that I'll have to go to the fourth game with only ten players on the field anyway. And they get absolutely no skills, so they are still worse than a newly formed team. Oh well.
My flagship, and now the only team with a positive win record, Mordor Backstabbers did better. The crazy high elves went up to meet a Chaos Halfling team, a team that was highly ranked but suffered a lot of M's. Too bad I had no idea how horrible a chainsaw is. My armour rolls were legendarily bad, and after just a couple of turns, I had suffered five casualties. And by bad, I mean bad. A lineman died after failing a GFI roll. That bad. I ended up with five players on the field, and the rest of the team was murdered.
So, the team was pretty much annihilated. But instead of giving up, I met a friend who just started Vampires, but had bad luck in his first game and needed an easy opponent. He only had two vampires, and I got the ref. After two or three turns, most of his team was knocked out. One vampire was knocked out and the other one was lying in a foulpit of very pointy elf feet, and a lineman was next to the TD line, set up for lots and lots of touchdowns. Too bad he conceded by then, but instead of lots of SSP I got a much needed pile of cash, and the first win in eight games. So, the Elves are pretty much back to a state where they can play real teams.
Finally I got in a game with my dwarfs, who used to be my only team with more wins than losses. I met orcs, and while causing a lot of hurt, I was horribly outsmarted and ended up with a 1-2 defeat. One of my slayers, who unfortunately won't be able to play next game, snatched a +S skill. So while things went horribly bad overall, at least there were two small glimmers of hope.
But god damn, I do suck at this. Last ten games are 1/2/7.
