Game is a little bit shallow, and it is just another TW game... Seems rushed and not properly tested in some areas. Flavor is nice, but certainly not worth the full price.

Its said to have a weak ai which makes winning battles very easy.

I've heard the battle AI is atrocious as usual.
CA tend to release games with huge balance issues but luckily the modding community steps in quickly to finish the job. Thank nuffle GW have allowed modding otherwise we'd be stuck with a half baked product with loads of wasted potential.
I'll buy it once a few decent mods have been released and once i've got a new PC :)

Really sad that after about 15 games CA still haven't made any advancements in battle AI. The best they can do is speed up the battle speed to make it more difficult for the player to react in time, or give the enemy artificial bonuses to their units and extra resources on the campaign map.

Also needs more factions. AFAIK no Beastmen in the game yet which is ridiculous, as fluff-wise they inhabit virtually every damn forest of the warhammer world.
Give me some ogre kingdoms and some playable beast herds and i'll buy the game :D

Is it any good in multiplayer?

the multiplayer is nice and you can head to head with a buddy to make those AI battles Hard. still only 2 person multiplayer choices though.. Bring back Hero system!

I got it and I thought it was worth it. I had fun with my friends and that is all that matters.
Is the game balanced? To some extent. In general all teams can face each others. There are some cheesy builds you can pull in single mp battles, many useless/pointless units and some op ones. Some balancing needed, but it's early so some form of meta might solve some things.
The AI is far from as good as real players, and you can take on superior armies when you figure out what the good units are and how to set upp flanks and stuff, so then you might want to play on harder diff.
I would like to see some more tactical stuff. They could even include more warhammer rules, like how ranks, different weapons and banners work. More magic points when you have more wizards would be nice, so you can play a magic heavy army.

I have to disagree that it's shallow or rushed, it feels like a good solid game to me. The AI may not be superb but it's not atrocious at all. It's as good as it's ever been I think and there aren't any competing 'medieval warfare simulation' games out there better. The more powerful units also make uneven battles more challenging than they otherwise would be.
I also don't think it's 'just another Total War', and I have a bunch of them (Medieval and Shogun 1 and 2, Rome 1, Empire). The magic and flying units really changes the game dynamic, as does the Hero and Lord development. Having characters in battles really changes them and they're worth hundreds of normal troops. A lone Vampire lord would take out 3 units of Empire Troopers.
I haven't played Multiplayer yet, but the clips I've watched online look fun.
