Hertha: "We promised our viewers that we would talk about the SHC South as well, so, Günther, what do you think of our Southern division?”
Günther: "Last season the division was hotly contested between the Buccaneers and the Wreckers. Only the penalty applied against the Wreckers prevented them from getting the divisional title. Before the season, Buccaneers have recruited well and are now rated 3rd in the League in squad value (after the Knights and the Patriots), whereas Wreckers have not done so well, and are now ranked 18th. Avalanche and Bruisers are even worse off. Thus, I think the Buccaneers will truly dominate the South Division this year. You can even discuss whether it’s the same team. With 10 new players, it can certainly be argued either way…"
Hertha: "And you do not really have much faith in the opponents?"
Günther: "Oh, they are great teams, don’t get me wrong. I just don’t think they have the power and the experience to be a threat to the Buccaneers. Again, the Wreckers will probably come nearest. They certainly have a squad with a theme, and that theme is Guard. All blitzers, two linos and the Ogre all have that ability. Otherwise, they are short of talent, though. One very good catcher and one OK, and about average quarterbacks designed for passing. They won both their two starting matches, against the same opponents as Carroburg, but they are not as good at causing casualties. They simply lack a killing machine like Dont’a Hightower or Dietmar Althoff. If they can present an unbroken line of guards and march in step forward, they can be strong, but otherwise… Avalanche has improved between the Seasons, too, getting the services of running blitzer Bruce Irvn and agile catcher Dan Herron. Their 1-1-0 record is also quite good, particularly a draw against 12th ranked Rangers. Bruisers have the talent, like one-turner Fast Eddie, star Quarterback Steve McNair , ultra-strong lino Ra’Shede Hageman and several Guard players. They haven’t really succeeded so far, though, and have only 1 point in their first three matches, and that a draw against Marauders, the least capable team in the league with a 0-1-16 record. So, unless there are severe injuries to key players, I believe the Bucs will take this division home easily, and with Wreckers going for a possible wild card. "
Hertha: “And for interesting games to follow, we have picked the Wreckers vs Buccaneers match in round 8. That will probably be an important one for the divisional crown.”
Günther: “Yes. And then the expected top matches against the Vikings in round 9, and of course the real gem, the round 5 match against Cascade!”
Hertha: “We’ll be there, will you?”
