CabalTropes Will Ruin Your Life Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Having some mates to watch your backside sure would help a lot. Wouldn't it be nice to get away? Sometimes you wanna go where friggin' nobody knows your name. Troperiffic was founded on the simple principle of anonymity. As soon as a player or coach puts ink on a contract, the person they used to be simply ceases to exist for as long as they're with the team, and they assume a new identity taken from the Big Book of Cabalvision Tropes. Thanks to Troperiffic's excellent legal and security teams that person's problems are also held in abeyance, whatever they may be and whoever the player may be hiding from. And of course, in the event that the mafioso, bounty hunters, repo men, clergymen, jilted lovers, or loose-cannon law enforcement agents who may be after the player get past all that, well, they'll still have to get past the gang of violent, unpredictable maniacs that society likes to call a functional Blood Bowl team! Entering Troperiffic's 15th match, the team was riding high with a 6/4/4 record after dealing the Chaos Pact squad Chaos BB a 3-1 drubbing. Team Ogre Big Bad had retired after suffering a broken neck four games previously, but the team was developing in a unique, agility focused manner with a pair of Catchers and four other Blodgers among the Thrower and Blitzers. They were also developing with quite a bit of bloat, the inexperienced head coach carrying too many rerolls and too many reserve players into each match. clemUSA's Hargendorf Raiders were a superior Human roster led by a superior coach, and it showed on the pitch. Two blodgy Blitzers and a Catcher died on the field, and the 0-2 loss sent Troperiffic into a rebuilding phase which they would not truly recover from until hiring Mighty Glacier, a new Ogre, 17 games later. Mighty Glacier made his debut in the team's 31st match, the 1370TV Troperiffic squad was matched up with a heavyweight team-killing Chaos team. BillBrasky's WMD's in The Box weighed in at 2190TV, featuring 6 CPOMB players with an axe to grind. Troperiffic spent 790k worth of Inducements on Morg 'n' Thorg, Helmet Wulf, a bribe to keep that chainsaw-wielding maniac on the pitch, a Belt of Invulnerability and a Rabbit's Foot. The result? 1-0 victory for Troperiffic, their first defeat of a Chaos team with a +2 CAS differential to boot. The team's milestone 50th match was a 1-0 victory over the young dwarf squad Blockasm. An early Get the Ref coupled with the Dirty Trick Illegal Substitution let Troperiffic throw a veritable blizzard of fouls, giving the humans a decided numbers advantage and killing Elel Ironleg the AG5 Dwarf Runner to boot. Though some random chance played a roll in the number of fouls thrown, this smash and boot playstyle is pretty typical of this incarnation of Troperiffic's preferred gameplan. Troperiffic's 55th match marked their first appearance in a FUMBBL Major as well as the end of an era. In the first round of the Crown of Sand qualifiers, Troperiffic was matched up against the formidable Vault Tec Squad coached by OenarLod. Lucky dice and a vengeful wizard were not enough to seal a win, however, and Troperiffic eventually fell to VTS in overtime, 3-2. Ax Crazy- the last of the team's original Blitzers- had already said that the match would be one of his last, once the team could afford to replace him; he managed one block before being blocked down and fouled in his niggly knees, Badly Hurt. Indy Ploy- superstar team Thrower- had perhaps the finest match of his career, throwing both TD passes, notching a CAS, and earning MVP very nearly stealing the victory from VTS. It was also the final game of his career, as he died on the pitch after taking a vicious block. With the final two highly skilled members of the original 11 gone, the match marked a transition to the young core of developing players. |
