"You may not choose the leader skill."

With wood elves you're playing high risk, high reward. Go all out with just one reroll and let the chips fall where they may.

Downgrading 3 positionals to linelves to get an extra reroll is an option, e.g.
WD - MB+T
WD - SB
C - B
8xL - choose preferred 3 of K, B, D etc.
2RR
1FF

I think I'd go
Tree - block/grab
WD - Tackle
WD - Strip Ball
Thrower - Sure Hands
Lino - Blodge
6 rookie Lino
1 RR
1 FF

Wouldn't it be better to put the tackle on the Strip Baller?

an army of sneaky git/dp elfs. (at least one man)

i'd go wrackle on one WD.

I wouldn't trust any of these guys. They all want you to fail miserably. I say skip the all the positionals and just have line elfs. That way you can get 4rr and 3ff. I recommend block and wrestle on 4 line elfs.
There was absolutely no pie references made in this comment. BUT in your face.

Trees are better than they seem. It is worth working one into the roster. From my observations, the impact of trees is to shield your LOS and elves from a lot of blocks. Wood Elves sans trees get injured a whole lot faster...
Interesting rules about skills. Basically you must take a doubles skill once if you want to use the 150K exactly. I suggest Guard. Otherwise definitely take 1 kick and spam a mixture of block, wrestle and dodge.
The mutations rules are interesting... Big hand and two heads are probably the best 2 choices for elves.

@Grod
If you're bringing a Tree (and I think you should) that double is just begging to give him Block IMO. Although a Guard/Block line elf would be useful.
I'm not so sure Wrestle is worth it. Unless you expect a lot of SH Blodgers (and I don't think you will), a SB Wardancer and a Tackle Wardancer should be more than enough to knock the ball free. Besides that, I'd rather have Block on my Elves and trust in my 2+ dodges to get away.
