Do you think the previous method would have made rushing to (for example) doubles on big guys too easy?
Generally though, I agree. I was a big fan of putting the MVP broadly where I wanted it. I understand the ‘romance’ argument of a Zombie hoovering up the first 6 MVPs and having 4 skills before a Mummy gets to Guard, but more often than not it’s more of a pain than a funny story.

I assume it was meant to balanace out the bash/foul advantage some teams have now. If those could skill up their key bash players easily it might have shifted the league meta too much in their favour?
But yes, skilling teams can now be a chore. My poor Wraiths take ages ;-)

It was like that in the LRB era.

Randoms change that a lot. My Human Linemen only take one TD to skill up!

I always thought 6 players with a D6 was a decent compromise. It was a help to teams with multiple ST4, low MA and AG players that were hard to score with.
However it wasn't so easy to always direct the skills to the exact player you wanted.

Now you never have to chase a coach to come back in to select his mvps. Whistle blows, game uploaded to client. Done.

If it needs to be done by dice, add at least a probability to players who scored or fouled a lot.
