Measuring your Success
Some people would say that winning is how you measure success, and they aren't totally wrong.
Others say that it's the journey which matters most. Neither are they wrong.
The best though, is when you can combine the two. I have just done so, winning a National Championship in the NCBB, one of the leagues I enjoy greatly because it is not totally wound up around wins and loses (though it is competitive), but invites the coaches to try and fluff their teams and their personas along the lines of real big college football programs.
So while this serves as a brag blog, I'd also encourage any other north american time zoners (or just those who like playing during north american evening times) to check out the NCBB, a new season will be starting soon, and it's a barrel full of monkeys flinging poo.

No, only coaches get votes, but there are several awards handed out each season.
And just like in real college football, there is a 'BCS' ranking and a coaches ranking (and duh Gogres keg standings), so the 'best' team doesn't always wind up where they want ;)
There is a non-AQ conference for new teams, but they are considered to be crap when it comes to scheduling the bowls, still after a season they are eligible to change conferences and enter a BCS conference.
There are rivalry games vs. your greatest nemesis, or just vs. some team you really don't like.
There are eligibility rules for players, there are restrictions on wizards and fouling, there are lots of pictures of hot girls. Well on my team there are, the rest of the league is a total sausage factory.

Congrats good sir, very impressive.
NCBB is a good place to be. It survived my mass league slashing when others could not :) The 4-and-out rule takes the cake of coolness.
