Well yes, you can spend money to buy the cards, but the f2p model here isn't terrible, the daily gold cap is annoying, but it feels high enough to not be a huge issue.

You can earn probably a couple packs a day, or at least one pack a day without too much hassle, just by playing the AI even if you think your deck stinks :)

I'm not really a good magic player, compared to my understanding of other CCGs at least, but I don't find it difficult on pvp, then again my rank isn't great, but that's to be expected :)

I just wish they could get someone competant to design their UI. Everything feels like it's swimming through molassas, and compared to other CCGs, it just feels weird. I mean it feels like I'm fighting the interface itself, which is never good.

Infinity Wars is still my CCG of choice for the moment sad to say.

I don't find the UI that bad. You have to get used to the timer so you remember to pause in certain phases when you want to play/activate instants though. That's the biggest issue with magic largely though, at least in any computer version, the interactive portions within any turn makes it hard while still keeping people on a clock.

May give it a try though I still play my own modded version of Magic Dotp 2014 with all my custom decks. Is UI any better / less bad than DotP?

This is the only Magic game I've played so I have no idea about the UI. To me it's ok, I suppose it could be better, but I don't find it a detriment to playing. Others have complained about the timers, but frankly, after several games you get the hang of pausing them so I don't think it's really a big issue. There are configurable keyboard shortcuts for most actions as well, so that works perfectly for my style.
