I've done a similar thing recently with one of my teams.
At worst, all the care you've put into you theme will make you concentrate that little bit more on your team, on and off the pitch. This can only be a good thing.
Plus, it's more fun, and why else are we here?

nope, as soon as I create a team badge or write fluff for a team they start losing lol :D

"i have more fun tho, which is the main idea"
This is a good point, i do find myself enjoying games alot more and going for silly throws with linemen

Fluff makes me better as a coach, no question about that.

Judging by the small amount of games I'd say it's pure coincidence.
That you care moer about your pixels might help you winning tho. (You can't win being outnumberd)

My fluffy teams makes me want to get back to playing them a lot sooner after I have thrown them in the corner following a bad match.

Playing better makes you play better.
Fluff can be inspiring, but be careful not to get TOO attached to the fluff, and ending up as a pixel-hugger :P

i lost 2 players in a game, i did get upset :'(

fluff more likely makes you play worse, build your team not following gameplay criteria and the such. But of course is funner.
I built a Khemri team to have a skeleton all-time scorer, i have a BOB scorer, and keep a -ST minotaur. Any of those are winning choices, but they keep things fun for me.

For me, bios, team fluff and 'proper' names fill the creative side I get from painting the miniatures for tabletop BB. (I just need to try to get my head around how to make cool team logos.)
I don't know if the extra work makes you a better coach, but maybe it's the FUMBBL version of the old wargamer's axiom, "Painted miniatures are luckier."
Posted by mayhemzz22 on 2012-06-13 15:42:31
ahh we just lost lol :P

Fluff is wasted now that any idiot can take Clawpomb and easily destroy what you are trying to create.
That aside, a fluffy team is always nice to see.

On tabletop, Nuffle favors the best painted team, on FUMBBL he favors well thought out teams. Doesn't mean he'll let you win, but he might test your willingness to stay fluffy.

Cool or Ironic names make players play better, obviously. >_>

my belly button has fluff, it dont make it smell better...
but its fun to poke my finger in and scare the dogs!!!
please let me wake up and this post has been a dream...

...not a dream, but thanks for giving me nightmares Dalfort!
"Painted miniatures are luckier." love that one!
Fluff might not make someone a better coach, but it can make you a nicer coach! Not saying your not a nice guy ;)

Fluff is just the cherry on the cake...
If you like cherries, u GOTTA fluff as hell :))
But u don´t usually get better when fluffing like a boss; this may just be coincidence.
You´ll become a better coach, when u take care of your guys, take smart moves
Wins let u improve your stats, but losses lets u improve your skills (you can learn a lot when doing some mistakes, cuz mistakes let u room for improvements as u´ll analyse WHAT u just did wrong;)
And improving your skills means still improving your win percentage :P :P :P
Just keep practicing, and may nuffle bless you (even when being an extraordinary coach, nuffle has the final word :I )
However there are loads of coaches (me including, just have to update my team page VERY SOON!!) who likes some hardcore-fluffing, and as an creative coach fluffing may make much more fun than "just crushing some flings" ;)
It´s up to you if fluffing or not, but your skills should increase with practice and experience (and nuffle)
Just pull out some matches and HAVE FUN!!! (No matter if fluffing ;)

yes, having team fluffers makes your team play better...........
especially amazons and witch elves
Posted by liquidorange on 2012-06-16 14:47:03
Fluff is awesome, no matter what. All things being equal, I'd play a team with a well thought out theme than a bland one any day of the week.
