Final Countdown
As a science nerd I've been watching New Horizons travel the solar system. when it launched, I was just about to become a dad. Now I have two children and a pro at fatherhood.
If I were president, I would have NASA and the DoD switch budgets. Had we done that after the cold war, we would have a McDonalds on Mars by now.

ok...maybe McDonalds on Mars isn't that great...but at least it'll be American!

If only we could see ourselves as Earthlings, or at worst as Humans. But I guess American works for some people (even if it's a somewhat artificial division). :)
