As a Belgian to me Saint Nicholas is somebody different than Santa. He comes December 5th. Named after Nicholas of Myra. Bishop of Small Asia at the time. While in my mind Santa comes from the old Shamans from the Sami. Always preferred Santa. Might be my Finnish pagan blood. :) In short, no.
