Ahoy there sportsfans! Welcome aboard the good ship Dreki for episode three of the Dökkálfar Dreki Fanzone; ALL the best plays, ALL the best players (if you happen to be a Dreki fan, and, let’s face it, who isn’t?).
Dreki bounced back from the disappointment of a 2-0
loss to the exceptionally disciplined Terminal Harmony with a 1-0 over the visiting Norse Dwarfs.
The winning TD was a fairly standard affair, for the Dreki; Himminglaeva danced away from a would-be tackler, popped a short pass to Frøya. The Dreadblade snatched the ball out of the air, ignoring the marking dwarf and bullied her way past to sprint to the endzone. So, this time we’re going to cover a play that did not lead to a TD (although it almost certainly stopped one).
Dreki had done a good job of spoiling the ‘Forgers second half drive, but they had recovered well and rookie linedwarf Christian Undin had gathered a loose ball and surged forwards. As the clock ran down towards the last moments of the match, Christian dashed (as much as a dwarf can dash) into a scoring position near the endzone.
Arvid dashed across quickly to mark him and Frøya dodged back to knock him down and spill the ball. With the ball on the ground and well marked the ‘Forgers hopes of scoring and tying the game looked to be over, but Himminglaeva immediately saw the opportunity to go 2-0 up.
Dancing past several dwarf tacklers, she scooped up the ball and popped another inch-perfect pass to Torstein Hund who grabbed out of the air and raced away into the oppositions half.
Sadly, Nerea the hired star player made a huge mess of the next block and monster Ulfwerner Flaff "Full Moon" Wittacker was able to run back to knock Torstein down and prevent the TD.
Thanks for tuning in, see you next time!
