Land-ho! The next stop for the Dreki this Summer was against the mighty Halflings of the Eicheschatten Swan Riders.

The Halflings had enlisted the help of the brutal treeman blocker, Deeproot Strongbranch, and the hearty crew of the Dreki spent most of the first half trying to avoid him (somewhat unsuccessfully, and Stiorra will be sitting out the next game to think about how to avoid treemen better!).

The Dreki received and had little trouble avoiding the trees and halfings, before Himminglaeva danced forwards and popped a nice pass to Torstein Hund, who caught the spiked ball very carefully before strolling over to score unopposed.


The Halflings set up to try to throw one of their catchers for glory to go into half time with the score tied at 1-1.
However, no one had told the poor chap about the spiked ball, and coupled with the offputting presence of the three Kraken Helms, this put an end to the TD attempt. And his game.


The Swan Riders did not make the same mistake again in the second half, and advanced the ball forwards with the imposing trees providing a secure screen.

Not quite secure enough, however, and Bölge managed to reach the Halfling carrier and knock them down. Himminglaeva weaved through a forest (literally) of opposition players to grab the ball and throw a pass for the 2-0...

But...one of the Halflings made the heroic sacrifice of attempting to intercept the ball. He got in the way but the spikes of the ball got into him and he was carried off on a stretcher, the game ending 1-0.
