Go fummbl - games on the increase
Puzzled by the fact that I was scheduled along 13! other coaches for a box game in prime-time (~20 server), I had a look at the stats for games played.
Quite a turn-around the last weeks - go fummbl!

Coincidentally, those are the weeks since BB"2" was released. Let's hope that trend continues.

Easy answer: I am back.

It does seem to be a new coach influence. However if you look at the same period last year, there was a similar rise. Numbers are up from both quarters though.

Actually the rise was a bit earlier last year.

Shitty weather must help.

For my part, the upcomming World Cup in Lucca plays a huge part in me getting more online to get a match. Not to be a better coach before the WorldCup (That train has left the station!), but just to get in the habit of playing many games right after each other. You know, getting over being diced, and then there is a new match with a new coach, and a new team. My only focus is that we have almost same value on the teams.

The rise last year, could that have anything to do with the EuroBowl and the EuroOpen side-turnament?

There's always a dip in summer as people go on holiday, and/or brave natural light outdoors :D

It does seem there's a lot of new coaches about though, unusually high numbers in fact.

Came back recently myself, I had an account until about the time Blackbox was created and just sort of trailed off at that point. Not because of the community or anything, I have fond memories of watching Lustria Cup games and the like with dozens of other spectators. Which team was it again, the Lavino Figthing Hellfish?

Got the bug again recently as I've been looking into "Oldhammer", built myself a real-world Chaos and Khemri teams from old models.

Looking at those stats, what caused the massive dropoff in 2009-10? LRB4 closing or Cyanide's first game or something?

Well, whenever I stream BB2, I will tell people that to really learn to play, fumbbl is the place to be. =)

@MBTT the drop coincides completely with the launch of the first cyanide game (june 2009). match numbers continued to drop, but was brought back to life once CRP and the new client was in place (winter/spring 2011). since then, the game numbers have stabilized at roughly about half of what it used to be between 2006-2009. Hazarding a guess, its possibly a combination of more real life responsibilities for the coaches as we (generally) move into mid-30s and 40s, and maybe some left for Cyanide, never to return (cue twilight zone theme).
