As with other celebrations, passing another 1000 game mark, this time 4000, offers a chance to reflect.
Spolier: contains league group praise.
Looking back at the younger me with
Game 2000 thoughts, things have changed a bit.
Ranked. I don't think I been on gamefinder for years. Once a major comes up, I dust off the
Smackers and sees how far my luck can take me.
Box. Hmm. I certainly feel the hype from the previsous trophy runs is fading, but still a great way to pick up a race you haven't played before and get a range of varied games with ease (if you're lucky like me and be in Euro TZ).
And the BAR Brawls is still a great way to play the old, fat teams and get a bit of that major feeling.
League is where I seem to have transitioned over.
While not new to League, having played 370 games with the same team in
WIL, over 40+ seasons, and loving the rivalry you can develop over the years, the new part is Secret League and custom roosters.
Dunno why I for a long time shunned that aspect of the game. It is an absolute blast, and now I embrace the fact that each game is unique as you opponent can be of a 100+ different races.
College. Coach
cowhead have build up something unique, and I can't wait to see how I can lead my college to glory and fame in the new year to come.
Then there is
CIBBL. Just wow - so much variety and fluff on top of a regional and ranked tournament structure. Absoloutely loving it. As a matter of fact, so much I've also joined cibbl+, where an
Albion team will make up for my
norse addiction.
2020 rules? Well, if this past year have told us anything, it is that you have to be able to adapt. And I will.
That being said, I will miss my big old fat teams.
And of course a big shout out to C, the Admins, be it on site or group level. You guys rock!
