State of the Swan Riders
Greetings sports fans,
Spring is over and what a season it was! Swan Riders did not manage to have the best ever spring performance for a Halfling. This honor remain with the Hilshire Culinary College from Y2. But we were close, actually only a dodge away from the 3rd Place!
With 1 W – 2 D – 2 L, - 2 TDD and -9 CAD the Swan Riders took the 4th Place in the Empire and 60 Prestige Points. They have gathered in total 180 Prestige Points, which is an absolute Record for Halfling CIBBL teams. Moreover, they have played already 13 Games and they need three more to become the Halfling Team with the most games played in CIBBL. The record is held by the Lords of the Harvest with 16 Games.
The most appropriate way to smash this record is by redeeming the Halfling Football from his darkest page. The fiasco of Eichenschatten Grand Feast where the organizers Lords of the Harvest did not show up disappointing all Moot. CIBBL gave the rights to Moot to organize a special Spring Tournament, the Moot Meat Pie Festival, and the Swan Riders will host another five teams which will fight for one Gold Cauldron (it will be used for the cooking, sorry, if you do not like it, just lose the games against us, please!). One team (and race) is quite familiar, our Southern brothers, but the other 4 races have never played against Halflings in CIBBL before.
The Swan Riders will face in turn
Rd 1: Pahualaxa Heads-Shrinkers (Forest Halfling). The only Team that we have played before:
Gipfel Blueleaves – Piranha Swamp Warriors 1-0 ;
Lords of the Harvest – Pahuax – Huntmasters 0 – 2 ;
Eichenschatten Swan Riders – Pahualaxa Heads-Shrinkers 0-2. Our prehistory is 1 W – 2 L for the Halflings.
Rd 2: Black Water Angling Society (Gnome)
Rd 3: Blazing Ignis (Fire Elemental)
Rd 4: Temple of Skulls Crocodiles (Rasetra)
Rd 5: Stonetooth Swarmers (Gnoblar)
Summer is in general a very tough season for the Halflings with bad results even for CIBBL Halfling standards. I guess, since we are the organizers, we should say that a TOP 4 Performance this Year is a must, but probably we must focus more to enjoy the games. It is our duty to proof that Halfling Football belong to this level and by participating we can recover from the past sudden disappearances of Halfling Teams. That does not mean, we do not still suspect some foul play against our honorable nation, we are still investigating that!
One last note: summer and Halfling sport journalism does not combine very well, especially when our main author is leaving Moot for South Tilea. So that means that we will not produce any special pre-game reports this summer, except probably from small match reports/commentaries in the matchpage.
Have a nice Summer!
