Greeting Sports Fans,
First game in Autumn Wood Division(*1) for the Swan Riders is against
Geheb's Lions, a Ka-Sabar team. They have actually played already against Halflings, the
Sleepy Wood Timbermen ( 2-1 win for the Lions). They do not have any remarkable stats (32 G: 9 W – 4 D – 19 L) and not yet trophies to show (actually neither have we :D ). During summer one player of them,
Celthic won the prize for the most fouls in a division full of greenskins, that is somehow impressive.
There are two Stars in the Team: a) the Ushabti Blocker
Abul-Simbel with 27 CAS (almost 1 per Game!). He have not missed any game of the Lions, impressive! He has also many achievements such as Triple Skulls and Division best prizes and once he passed succesfully the ball!
b) the Thro-Ra
Tefast Apoto , with 12 Tds (1 in every 3 Games). He also had participated in all the Lions games so far.
There are also other 6 high skilled players and some unskilled skeletons. Unfortunately a lot of (4) Tackle knowledge also...
On our side, Deeproot Strongbrach(*2) and our Chefs are a safe bet for the eventual reinforcements that our team needs for this game.
*1: The fact that we are playing in the Wood Division and the effort that the Swan Riders put to save the Fangorn forest from the fires caused by these damned fire elementals have motivated also the Treemen of Athern Loren to support our Team. Some newly recruited hardcore Treemen fans started their trip from Athern Loren towards Moot to see some games live! Unfortunately, they are coming on foot and... this will take some time, until we see them.
*2: He is fine and ok. I know that we have not seen him lately with the Swan Riders, but we can afford him only when CIBBL sending us financial aid to survive. During the Moot's Meat Pie Festival we had none!! CIBBL officials, why you have abandoned us!!!!
Did you know... #13
…. that there were Undead Halfling players? During the late sixties the famous Necromancer Tomolandry tried to incorporate passing game tactics for his legendary Champions of Death by „recruiting“ the Dwarf runner Skrull Halfheight. The experiment was fascinating and created some hype in the undead teams for some unconventional tactics. At the end, the results were not very remarkable. Even Tomolandry took almost all his titles using conventional roster and tactics. Skrull was not used in any of the title-winner games of the Champions of Death. But this did not stop some necromancers from dreaming! Sylvanian lower leagues due to the proximity with Moot experimented with the throwing game. Dead Halfling players were abundant, so even the poorest Necromancer could find promising „recruits“ for their team. The problem was to teach the Mummies to throw them and make the undead Halfling to remember how he could land! This together with the inexperience of the undead coaches on how the throwing team-mate works condemned the experiment. But who knows, Dust Goblins are doing it, so maybe there is a way...
