After a week at the hospital....
... I took a turn for the nurse.

So, I've just gotten back from hospital, one week of excruciating boredom. Last week I had my third eye-surgery within 14 months. My right eye feels like it's been chewed up and gone through the intestines of a giraffe, and my left eye just sits there being dumb and not working (as it has for the last 5 years). They've put me back on steroids (to keep inflammation down), making me quite restless and full of both energy and mood-swings. However I'm not allowed to do anything for another week. Any exaggerated motion can shake things out of place, and any continual strain (ie. staring at a computer screen too long) can cause harm. Since I live alone, I don't have anyone nearby to whine to, so I'm using the interwebs (congrats, you've been chosen).

This is the second surgery for glaucoma I've had, and this time they actually implanted a small valve in my eye to regulate the ocular pressure. Last year I got a Trabeculectomy which apparently didn't do the trick. Or it did, until they implanted a small deposit of steroid (Retisert) into my eye, in order to prevent further inflammation (due to a severe and chronic case of uveitis).

Seems like I'm getting abit too technical, so I'll end my rant here by saying: if you got working eyes, don't take them for granted. 10-20 years ago I would've been blind.

I'm sure someone will claim it serves me right, since I never forwarded a chain-letter in my youth, neither did I heed certain religious groups that claimed certain things would make me go blind. I certainly don't regret any of it.

Get well soon man.

On a lighter note: do the words "Medicinal Marihuana" mean anything to you?

According to Peter Tosh: "Them say it cure Glaucoma, yeah..."

As the only one in my family with perfect eye sight, I have always realised how blessed I am with my eye sight...

Hope it'll all be better for ya soon.

And now, just to cut down on the cute level...
Perhaps you should have prayed to the Chaos Gods to mutate your left eye so it works again?

Sorry to hear about your eyes, but respect your positive outlook - get well soon.

Operating the third eye must be a tricky operation...

Well, hope that you feel better soon!

Eye problems....So that's why you are so crap!!! Seriously though, get better soon. I'm a big supporter of the Norwegian League regulars.
