DLE - Transformation of a Franchise
Setting: Griffins' Headquarters, 1 Patriot Slayer Way, Fort Solace, Wasteland

Coach Arcayn walks into Team owner, Mr Foxx Cowhead's office.

Arcayn: Look Mr. Cowhead, I've worked miracles so far. Since I've arrived we have gone undefeated in the final 4 games of this season that was destroyed by that previous coach or two, with very minimal players.

Mr. Cowhead: Wilton Chamberlain is a beast! In just 4 games since we added him to the roster he has 8 Casualties Caused, good for 2nd most in the final 7 rounds.

Arcayn: I agree Wilt is great. Can you name one other player on the team, sir?

Mr. C: Of course I can! James Michael Lachey, our Franchise Blitzer.

Arcayn: Ummm... Sir, you traded him away earlier this season, before my arrival.

Mr. C: Oh yes, I was joking of course. Raymond Clay Childress, Jr

Arcayn: Again sir, RCC was killed by the Classics of Middenheim, again before my time. Basically sir, all of these quality players you can think of from the Griffins past are long gone. If you expect us to compete with Broekwater then we need to bring in some veteran presence. Rookies would be good, but I work best with high quality, experienced players. Plus they will develop more quickly.

Mr. C: I see... Do you have something in mind?

Arcayn: I thought this 3 seasons ago, and I still believe it... Derek Carr is the kind of player to build your offense and team around. And before you ask, I am fairly sure I can acquire him if you give me the ability to negotiate with the Eagles.

Mr. C: You've proven your worth through the past few games. I'll give you the keys to the car. Just understand that your future is dependent upon our success.

After a few days of negotiations, Arcayn secures Carr's services (as well as a 4th round pick) for the Griffins in exchange for the Griffins' first round pick and Thrower Jordan Jefferson. After this trade takes place Arcayn meets with Derek Carr at the team's practice facility after working out with the Griffin's positionals.

Carr: Coach, I am happy to be reunited with you and touched that you feel I can help bring this team to the Promise Land, but these guys SUCK! No one can really catch or handle the ball. Chamberlain is a monster in the blocking category, but he's not much of a ball handler. And same with Johnny too, but to a lesser degree. Sensabaugh can kinda catch the ball, but he is definitely more of a tackler or defender. And none of the other guys are even worth mentioning.

Arcayn: Well, maybe we can grab a couple of guys late in the first round. Although I spent our #10 pick to get you, we do still have a couple of picks from playoff teams at the end of the first.

Carr: That might be possible coach, but drafting rookies can be a crap shoot, you never know what you might get. Why not try to secure a veteran Wide Receiver to pair with me? We could be the foundation of this offense and lead the push to the playoffs here in Fort Solace. I've heard of a Top Quality Catcher on the market that his team desires future picks. Guess what!? As I was packing my bags in Remas after the trade I overheard coach Asteflix talking. Not sure whom he was talking to but he was talking about trading away their Season 5 draft to secure some first rounders this season. Carr grins

Arcayn: I know exactly who you are talking about, and that sounds like a great plan to me. Welcome to the Griffins' Nest DC! Can't wait to ignite this offense, team, and league together. Let me see what I can do.

Arcayn reaches back out to coach Asteflix of the Remas Eagles and is informed of what the Price is to obtain Eagles' Season 5 picks. He then reaches out to coach Bigf of the Middenheim Classics to find out what it would cost to close the deal on Michael "Snowflake" Floyd. After some negotiations with the coaches in question Arcayn gives up his 2 first Round picks (Brionne and Broekwater) to obtain Remas Season 5 1st, 2nd, and 4th and Broekwater's Season 5 2nd. He then turns around and gives up that Future 1st and the Griffins' Season 5 1st as well as young Blitzer John Doe for Floyd and a conditional season 5 pick.

Hopefully for seasons to come the "CARR TO FLOYD TD" will be plentiful. But this is Blood Bowl, with Piling On still in full effect, so who knows. Anyway....

FLY GRIFFINS, FLY!!!!

Patriot Slayer Way, eh? Thanks for the motivational billboard material, coach!
Maybe, just maybe, do you have an assistant called Rex with foot fetishist habits?

I'm surprised Carr was impressed by being traded for a #10 pick...

"If you expect us to compete with Broekwater"

Deep down, he doesn't.

Awesome trades Arcayn! Good to have some excitement back in the league, with big trades not just by the big brutes! I hope it works out great for you.
