Back by popular demand, the often debated, occasionally accurate ARC. Not much else to say about them, so let's just dig in.
32) Skar Bay Sharks- New management in Skar Bay as Sharkrudi moves over from Averheim to take over control of the team named for his beloved sharks. Call it a reminiscent pick, but until he proves that there is a change of culture the Guppies will continue to hold down this spot that they've seemed to hold almost eternally.
31) Wolfenberg Wolfskins- Since coach Ratbane has taken over the Pelts, the team has not won more than 2 matches. With the addition of Gal and Morrow to go with Bruschi it seems Wolfenberg is being invaded by forces from Sylvania. Three Vamp Blitzers is scary for sure, but as most of you know, I am a "prove it" type of coach. And the Bane of Skaven needs to prove he can take out human competition too.
30) Averheim River Bandits- Another team with new management. This is the franchise the head Shark left in shambles before swimming off to bluer waters. Now coach Nabz must cut his DLE-teeth in the newly competitive KFC(not-so)Easy. And that task will be Not So Easy. Good Luck Rook!
29) Muckenhof Manticores- The DLE's most quiet coach has not had much success. Although Season 3 was close to an even record, coach fischer has never had a winning season at the helm of the Manties. And his divisional rivals have all had some success in the post season. Those 2 facts prove a tough existence for this franchise.
28) Los Cabos Marauders- I expect that, in time, coach Nextflux will turn LCM around and make it once again competitive. I just don't think that time is yet. With only 7 matches under his belt, and a not particularly friendly schedule in the Norths this season, I think he needs a little more time to simmer before being ready.
27) Altdorf Thunderbolts- Longtime coach 71 and his 'Bolts underwent a changing of the guard this off-season as they shipped Team Leader Arnold Miyers off to the magic working doctors in Hargendorf and brought in the Jones boys (Annoyance blitzer Egypt and Big Thrower Cardale). Can they raise the 'Bolts to heights Arnold couldn't? We shall see,
26) Monte Castello Wreckers- Story is the same as many above, coach that is newer to the league (less than 2 full seasons) in a division with multiple teams that frequent the post-season. Life of a new coach in the DLE usually isn't easy for awhile. So MCW and coach Knut are in that "Prove it" phase.
25) Remas Eagles- Remas underwent a complete overhaul this offseason. Team Captain Joe Doe, Offensive Leader Don Marino, OTT threat T.Y. Hilton, and young local talent T.J. Hoopengardner are the only ones to return from last season's squad. The Eagles have converted to an agility build. It has yet to be seen if this kind of build can be successful in the DLE. And with 12 new faces, it will likely take time for the players to learn how to work together.
24) Skjaldberg Cardinals- See the blurb for MCW, switch out "Knut" for "det" and you get the idea. I do like the drop of the "Red" from the team name though.
23) Barboza Bruisers- After making the playoffs in season 6, the Bruisers regressed to only achieving a .500 record last season. With such results, I have to assume that Season 6 was a fluke. So until coach kummo proves me wrong, I will place them in bottom third of league.
22) Nuln Gunners- What will the Gunners do this season, the first full under new management? Well a new coach, with a young blitzer corps doesn't excite me. What does excite me is the Marriage Bowl that will be happening near the end of the season. GO GUNNERS!!
21) Middenheim Classics- Mack has returned home. After being stolen from his original franchise, winning titles in Broekwater and surviving in Remas, his career has gone full circle. Bringing him back to the franchise that drafted him. His team doesn't look bad, and we all know his coach has a Super Bowl title on his resume. But I think the level of competition in the division has risen and the Classics will find themselves on the outside looking in come playoff time.
20) Kemperbad Knights- I never imagined a demon would be an extreme pixelhugger. But then I look at the Knights roster and I see more injuries there than I do empty Pepsi bottles in the garbage can next to my desk. My grandma probably has a faster 40 time than many of the players on this team. History tells me the_Demon will have some success, but with this M*A*S*H unit, it'll be minimal success. So the Mid-Knights will be mid-dle of the pack.
19) Flashfurt Universe- This team has a quality coach, but I'm not impressed with the roster as is. Badp alone is good for a few wins, but against the better teams and better coaches I believe his roster is going to limit him.
18) Grenzburg Greenskins- Somehow a dwarf was able to sneak into the DLE and join the team of Orcs. Coach Matt is carrying a few injuries along with him into his 8th season at the helm of this franchise, but they seem to work. None of the injuries seem to be that crippling. But I still see the Orcs as a middle of the road team.
17) Great Ogham Griffins- The 'Fins did not live up to coach Ben's Awesome prediction of hoisting the SB trophy. But they did break into the post season, but they did come up short in the 1st round losing by 1 score in what may be the DLE's highest scoring Playoff game ever. I think after a ride to the post season these Mythical Beasts are due for a let down this season.
16) Carroburg Crimson Cascade- For the 1st time since the DLE schedule went to 16 games, a team with more than 1 win had 0 draws. At 7/0/9, 3C was close to a .500 season. This season I expect a little more improvement upon that, but still see the post-season as a stretch.
15) San Luis 49ers- I see this team as similar to 3C, coach Gotrek has improved his tactics in his time with the Noners, but shipping Hopkins to division rival Remas, could end up costing them a game or 2 this season, as they did not really replace his skill set. Leo "the Mountain" Nomellini will do his best to lead the team to the promise land. I just believe he will fall short.
14) Praag Grizzlies- Coach sonrises has assembled possibly the best staff and front office in the DLE. The likes of Axel Lazyskimmer (and his fine wine) and strategic mind of Jeffrey, have made it so the coach himself has to do very little. Some may think that the coach is a buffoon, but I see him as a genius. He has placed the right people in the right places. This offseason the team brought in the likes of Pro Bowl Blitzer Wilton Chamberlain. This should bolster the Blitzer corps of the Grizzlies. But rumor has it that coach sonrises might be taking the reins of the team back from Jeffrey, this could cause major problems.
13) Irrana Avalanche- Never quite sure where to rank this team. I like the coach, I like the roster and when it comes down to it, I believe they will be battling for a post season bid come that time of the season.
12) Norden Legion- The Legion changed a bit this off-season shipping their War Dancer to the Griffins in exchange for Mr. Reroll. There is still an Agility approach here, and I think coach JackH will continue to show that such a build can bring some success. But can it lead him to the next level? We shall see.
11) Marienburg Foxes- I expect coach MLS to do well if he can keep the Niggled players on the field. This Rank might be a bit of a stretch, but I expect the Foxes to return to form and be back in the thick of things.
10) Wolfsbach Scimitars- Its and Even numbered season. Everyone knows what that means for the Butterknives. If not... Ask coach Kaiowas, he knows the History.
9) Rotenbach Razerbacks- I could probably copy and paste my blurb of the Piggies from any other season. The roster doesn't matter so much with this Franchise. As long as their coach is the Special One, they will be in the thick of things, as their All-Time DLE 6th best Regular season win percent shows.
8) Talabheim Sluggers- The DLE's luckiest coach continues to dice all comers. At one point last season I had counted out this team. Then they proceeded to go 6/1/0 in their last 7 regular season matches to win the division. If you can't beat 'em, Dice 'em like datom!
7) Bilbali Rangers- Change of coach late in the season did not seem to affect the Rangers whatsoever. Now that coach Adam faces a full season of DLE can he keep it up? I think so, and that is why I place the Rangers here.
6) Hargendorf Unicorns- This is the DLE franchise that uses the rules to it's fullest advantage. There was the season of the Tank, which not only improved the team, but got them right back into the playoffs. Now this off-season there was the Arnolding. Made a lowball offer to bring in the multi-injured Arnold Miyers from Altdorf, and then went to the rule book once more to use a restorative potion and then join the lobby to have them outlawed. ;) Coach Murk seems to channel his inner-Belichick better than most.
5) Kislev White Wolves- No longer is Flashfurt 2nd on the list of winningest regular season franchises. Coach Doofr and Kaydubdub have surpassed them. However, how will they cope with the loss of Fletcher Cox? This is yet to be seen. They will be in the hunt and likely win the division as usual, but maybe not with the previous dominance now that their intelligent Ogre has passed on.
4) Erengrad Vikings- I love Erengrad. I love their coach. IMO he is the most underrated coach in the league. But he belongs in the conversation when we speak of the best coaches here. And this season I think his roster is looking pretty good too.
3) Brionne Buccaneers- Lost in the SB. I still believe that the Bucs are the Top team in the SHC.
2) Templhof Thunder- Coach Wreckage gave everyone a headstart last season, and still came in with a mediocre team that he was not familiar with and made the second round of the playoffs. Now he has had a chance to mold the roster a bit more to his tastes and will not start the season in the hole. Watch out DLE!
1) Broekwater Patriots- ..........
