There is currently a rather interesting race heating up in the NCBB. I'm not talking about the race to the National Championship game, which is rather interesting in it's own right with several teams sitting with 4 wins or more:
ND (4/1/0)
Mz State (4/1/1)
ITBA (4/0/1)
MD (5/0/1)
UNAM (4/1/0)
But the race I speak of if the race between the Ball Carriers of those last 2 teams. Both players look to hold TWO All-Time NCBB Records. The TD record has already been broken by both players, and appears to be a seesaw battle to see who comes out on top at the end of the season. The Rushing Yards Record has not yet been broken, but barring a catastrophe for both players seems inevitable.
UNAM's
Russl Wilsn is a fast (+MA), agile (+AG), sure handed ghoul, who knows how not only how to take a Block, but how to tackle as well.
While MD's
Stefon Diggs is a very similar player. He is fast and agile as well as being surehanded and able to take on blocks. The difference is, where Wilsn is a tackler, Diggs knows how to be a bit more elusive when being pushed around (Sidestep).
As the season winds down this race should remain exciting. I would love to see a Bowl Game that pits UNAM vs MD, especially an NC matchup where not only is the title on the line, but these records as well. But while the dream of that game may not come to fruition, there are a few things for certain (if these players live to see season's end)...
1.) These guys will be in the NCBB Record Books for some time.
2.) These guys will be drafted early next season, and see lots of playtime in the NBFL.
3.) This race is exciting.
So in the words of a guy who knows a thing or two about scoring TDs and setting Records....
"Getcha Popcorn Ready!"
Currently MD has played 1 more game than UNAM. The Career stats of each player is as such:
Player Name | Games | Turns | Yards Rushed | TDs |
---|
Russl Wilsn | 34 | 353 | 728 | 33 |
Stefon Diggs | 31 | 400 | 746 | 34 |
Current/Old Record | | | 774 | 31 |
