Player MIA during perfect defense - Is there a bugfix?
My oppo had a perfect defense roll, and started to realign players on the field, when he could not end it (not all on the field). He stated I he could see all his players, and I could see 10 out of 11; one dead and 9 on the field.

Is there a quick fix for this, we tried just restarting the clients, wo any difference. And yes, its Bowl and Chain of course!

For the initial set-up: Simply save and load a new set-up at the start of each drive.

For PD, QS, etc: Click on each player you moved a few times, as each time you click on a player, it tells the server to update their position. (With 2 or 3 clicks, it should get through.)

Has to be done by the side who has their players "missing"

Don't think so, I've had that before a while ago. We eventually got an admin to abandon the game & we had a rematch some time later . . . Don't think there is anything else you can do

This has only ever happened to me once. It is a freak event and there is nothing you can do. I couldn't find a fix anyway and an admin had to cancel the game.

C3PO..... Annoying forum topics, annoying blogs, gives absolutely nothing to the site in anyway, a total menace in ranked, cannot be bothered to click help- known issues with FFB, is very difficult to relate with, and whines whenever he's pulled up for breaching site rules....

And people wonder why staff members are jaded.

Not sure if you can use one in PD, its doubtful my oppo had a setup saved anyway, but that works if its not a perfect defense with MIA players I think Overhamsteren. Not entirely sure what causes the players go missing, an accidental right click or some such perhaps?

This bug happens to me in literally 50% of my games. Some people don't experience it at all.
It arises because there is a slight delay (or random discrepancy) in the information that is on your screen (which always responds to your clicking and dragging), and the information that actually reaches the server.

It's triggered by the following series of events–––
1) You have players arranged in a particular set-up.
2) Then, you rearrange some or all of your players, and put one (or more) of them in the same square as where other players were in the original set-up.

What happens is–– you've moved your player, and you see it on your screen, but not quite every change you make is communicated to the server. It gets the second instruction, but not the first.

Example-- Player A is on center of the LOS. Then you put Player A in the backfield and put Player B in the center of the LOS. The server puts B in the right spot, but has failed to recognize the change to A, so it puts both of them in the same place. Of course, when you're playing, server can only recognize one, so it eliminates the other.

The outcome of this is––
• Sometime players disappear (if you've moved them into previously-occupied spots), but more commonly,
• More commonly, they simply change position. What this looks like is–– when you activate them, their block or movement options will appear as if they were wherever the server says they are. In the above example, clicking on Player A (whom you see in the backfield) will bring up blocking options on the LOS, or highlight possible movement squares near the LOS. (This can look quite bizarre.) In this situation you CAN throw blocks from a player that you see in the backfield (and interestingly enough, you cannot knock yourself down in this manner, although you can knock your opponents down) but can't move from the adjusted location. Either way, your opponent's screen will show him exactly what the server recognizes.

The fixes for this are––

If the drive has already started, it's not that simple. By reloading the client, you can update your screen with what the server thinks is right. This means that relocated players will be useable (albeit, out of position). However, if the player has disappeared, he will not be available for the drive. At the end of the drive, he'll be returned to your reserves. If he was a Secret Weapon player, he is treated as having played during the drive.

This bug has been a bane for me since I started on FUMBBL. I'm so used to it now that it's pure reflex to save/load a set-up each drive.

C3I2 - you can't fix this bug. There's no way to save/reload the setup, ergo, you won't be able to continue the match. If in fact there is a way to resolve this bug, I would be very interested in knowing about it.

I figured that afterwards it only works IF my oppo can see the players to click on them, the suggested fix should be workable from what cameronhawkins said UNTIL we restarted.

The key here is that the player who has the bug need to either click on all players or reset to a saved setup (cant do the latter on a PD).

On the other hand, we can but try.

I suppose one thought is to use a keyboard shortcut to select the missing player, I'm not sure how one would accomplish that, but it seems possible.

ok, if he ever gets online we´ll try to click on players then use < and > to select then activate, and if not I´ll remember the click on player thingy next time, and yes it happens every so often but usually you can just load a template to fix it as it is a normal kickoff.
