But the first three encounters between us were one sided, either TR-wise or luck-wise.

R matters, B matters, every accomplishment matters. It matters how you obtain it and it matters how often and how long you obtain it. It matters at what rating you have peaked the highest. It matters what Leagues somebody wins, what tournaments, filling the grid matters and beating every other race matters. Nuilding the most badassest player matters. Everything matters and when it comes to quality of a coach those are all things to remember.
But most of all and most important: When you see a coach with a really long winning streak and decide to play him: Don't rely on winning your next match.

Let me just state that I think being #1 in a list where smallman is #6 is a very tiny honour indeed.

6/4/3 vs Cloggy. The matches where he was pickiest were where he was filling the grid (again). My hypothesis: he first plays the matches he can get easily. Then when he needs to fill up the grid, he's left with only those matchups that are massively in his favor (looking for stunties to play against his dorfs and the like). Since he focuses only on those, he goes on a massive winning streak. Then his grid is full, and he starts playing real games again.

Indeed; you can manipulate box CR as easily as ranked CR, with minmax zons/pact. It's also done by playing a stacked game against noobs, but with less consent and more bravado.

I don't play in ranked by choice, hell I hardly play in Box anymore. I like Majors and I think it's sad that I have to play in Ranked in order to participate in them all. If you notice I did choose an appropriate name to show my contempt for the division's status as a "competitive" division. (Ftiw I think the fact that a free play division exists is awesome... but we have League)

And Wreckage is right to an extent of course. All the stuff can matter to individuals and CR does tell a story whether it's just extreme teambuilding or cherrypicking or that Azure has been using Flings recently... but without context and other knowledge the ratings are basically worthless.
