Generation Z Bloodbowl
It has begun :)

A week before my son's 7th birthday I take him to a local game store while some folks are playing and learning this wonderful game of ours. We come home and he chooses to play me with humans against my pro elves (ah!... naive youth!...)

Granted, he's not quite 7... so I don't burden him with the entirety of the rule set, the stats of every race and what not. I just guide him towards decisions and let him make choices and roll the dice. He smashes my elves to the ground (all make armour) goes for the ball, and snakes the pickup :D Luckily for him, it's far enough back that I can't steal it. I position well, but he recovers the ball and huddles up... my next two turns I snake dodges, do he gets (in effect) three turns in a row and... surprise, he scores.

You could not have slapped off the grin of pride he had :) And just like that, a new fan of the game is born.

Teaching him goblins tonight. Also having him name his humans. And in case I wasn't already acutely aware that this was MY son... he named the Ogre "Poncho" ;)

I am deeply envious, I have 4 teenager girls. With unsurprisingly not an inkling of interest in the Great Game. (sniff)....but maybe a light at the end of the tunnel, as they have boyfriends....maybe able to corrupt them instead :)

I am 0-2 against my daughter... who was 11 or so at the time. She plays Orcs and is nasty!

This is certainly the best way to learn. I bought the game at quite a young age and misunderstood many aspects and had no idea about strategies.
