Hippies 69 at WO
Yesterday I played my first game in the WO qualifiers. First I wasn't even sure to get in the tourney because of my teams low TV, but suprisingly I got in yay!
I was a little terrified first after I looked at the team in my qualifier group. Opponents are mostly around 1800+ TV. My first opponent was Gravelords and I was sure to get my ass kicked, since I've had difficulties against undead-related teams with welfs.
Then the game started and I tried to play as focused as possible and do my best no matter what would happen. I was on offence first and decided to score quickly and succeeded. Then my plan was to try my opponent from scoring and try to steal the ball. The first half was a tough fight and I almost prevented my opponent from scoring but Smeesh managed to score in the very end.
The team's TV difference was 740 which got me some sweet inducements. I bought a wizard, babe, merc lino and Morg. Morg played a very good game and gave some much needed puch to the team. For the wizard my tactic was to save it until the very last moment and in the second half at turn 4 or 5 my wardancer was next to Smeesh's ball-carrier ghoul ready to grab the ball. The wizard fired his lightning bolt hitting the ghoul and seriously injuring it (-ma). Now the ball was loose for my dancer to grab. Leap in, grab and quickly run away, the dancer succeeded and scored the winning 2-1 goal for the Hippies.
Fortunately the dice were in my favour in this game. My welfs took a lot of hitting but their armour was hard. I also got a few lucky 1d blocks and Smeesh had some bad luck with gfis and stuff. But that's just part of Blood Bowl.
It was a close game but definitely not what I had anticipated. Today round 2 around 19.00 BB time against Sinkder. Can the underdogs win again?

Grats man. Most people without their own dog in a fight will root for the underdog, so I imagine you'll have a fair amount of backing :)
Also because you're not playing cpomb, but then again woodies get a bit of a bum rap too from time to time :)

Not sure but been thinking about Morg, wizard, 2 babes and Jordell, with 20k left open. Maybe drop the Jordell and 1 babe for a couple of skilled merc linos propably to fill the bench up?

Like you i was surprised to make it at all.
Hope i can give a halfway decent game and dont be a free win at least. :)
