If he didn't have velcro gloves, it might be impressive.
Hand egg ball just doesn't do it for me, doesn't hold a candle to rugby.

Thanks for that opinion Chainsaw, now we can all rest easy at night knowing where you stand on the matter.

Diving Catch is completely overpowered.

You will never, and that means absolutely never, see anything remotely resembling the level of athletic accomplishment observed on that play in a Rugby game.
Still, one can prefer whatever one likes. Those of lesser intelligence will inevitably gravitate towards the older and less evolved sports while decrying what they inherently understand to be superior forms of their old and lacking pastimes.
Quite frankly devoted followers of Rugby remind me the anti-vaccination crowd. Unwilling and unable to accept progress, and so, decrying what science has proven to be logical and sound.

What about us that like both Rugby and American Football?

Quite right. There is no need for sweeping generalizations if all you want is to have a go at Chainsaw. ;)

I forgot to post this but I wanted to as an example of Diving Catch.
Fun play to watch!

Amazing play. The guy is a unreal and while there is definitely some luck in it, he practices those catches as part of his regular routine.
Check out his warmup and college catch at the bottom here:

These guys are insanely talented. And I was always a fan of football, but now that they almost all play the hurry-up style offence, the game is at a completely different level. Much more exciting to watch, requiring more talent, thinking and endurance. I think rugby is cool too, especially the faster paced games like 7s (I think that is it, don't see it much), but it is definitely not some elevated form of football.

Even before the game where he made that catch, he was practicing those one handed catches. He is Rookie of the Year in my book.
