I like the quote 'Never mistake activity for achievement'. There's a number of people in my office I could apply that to.
I get all creeped out by stuff like the pyramid, however. It seems he was a sport coach, but people that make a living from pedalling stuff like that annoy and worry me. Benefit of doubt in this case, I guess.

A true genius....
"Adversity is the state in which man mostly easily becomes acquainted with himself, being especially free of admirers then."

He considered himself more a teacher (that was his work) than a coach.
In today's world were it seems that winning is the only thing that matters he measures success in terms of effort not wins.

John Wooden may have been a sport coach, but he was not just a sport coach. He was a teacher, a leader & former of men. He inspired, taught & lived his life w/ pure love in his heart. He proved throughout his life, by the way he carried himself & the way that he lived, that he was a truely great & wonderfly kind man; an example to us all. We should all feel blessed that such a man walked this earth. The world has just lost one of the great ones. God rest his soul.
