So I went along trying to develop my Norse team, and ended up in a very bashy contest with the Athasian Dead. Alas, my norse team got beat up pretty bad, I will be missing two players next match and my Blitzer got an AG minus, guess his ball handling days are over.
The first half was comical, i was down to five guys pretty quickly and he just took a Sunday afternoon stroll into the end zone. I was worried he would stall and just let his Mummies pound my players into mush seeing as he was at the TD line by turn 4. Luckily he didn't and even more luckily I was able to score a pretty sweet equalizer before the half with his mummy flubbing the open field block and allowing my player to skitter in the end zone.
Second half was like a WW1 trench fight, with pushes in both directions getting stomped by defense and blood everywhere. No scoring was done in the second half and both teams walked away with a good deal of cash 70k, and pride intact.
As for team developments, I bought a catcher with the 70k. I had hoped to save up for either an Ogre or another blitzer, but i need another body on the field now and a norse catcher is basically a lineman with the catch skill.
My thrower got a MA + for a skill roll (sweet) and looks to take over the primary ball handling role on the team.
Going to be a man down next game, looking for a light hitting team ::shoots sideways glance at nearest skaven or elf team:: to try and recoup.
GAME THOUGHTS:
Looking back at the replay, I was much better when I used the R.T.H.A.F.T.M defense (run the hell away from the mummy), I would rather take my single agility roll instead of taking a two dice mighty blow block. In the future, if I have done most of my turn and it's not a critical defense point, I am bugging out.
Misused the apothocary in this game, used him on the first BH guy and then didn't have him later when my Blitzer got a SI, i gotta keep from premature apotholation.
