Green Bay Orkers versus Stryke's Murderers 1-0
http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&op=view&id=2127840

Huzzah, won my first league match. The Orkers are my submission to the 145 Club's Rookie Cup. They were build around a strong running game and lots of blocking, and in their first game they certainly accomplished that.

I feel that I got a pretty lucky draw as the Murderers were one of the lightest hitting teams in the Cup with no Black Orc Blockers and two Gobbos on their team. My strategy was pretty strait forward, put my str 4 BOBs out in front and pave a trail for my four blitzers.

I kicked off on the first half and for the first six turns the match resembled a rugby scrum more than a football game. It was a messy pile of orcs in the middle of the field and blocking numbers became key. This style of play greatly benefited my team as my BOBs wrecked havoc on the weaker players and then set up the advantage numbers so my blitzers could get quality chances. As luck would have it, on turn six i blocked the ball carrier and it was scooped up by Farn Finger Bender who handed it off to Narkle Nosebreaker who sprinted in for the TD. As it would turn out this was the only TD of the game. Got lucky before the half as the Murderers gobbos tried to sprint down the field and score an quick equalizer, but alas Lil'le One tried to thread the needle pass Smerak and was turned into a green pile of goo by the blitzer's boot.

Not much to report in the second half except Litt'l'er One, the sneaky little git, in order to avenge his gobbo teammates death, snuck in behind Smerak, then Gorak blocked him into the crowd. Unfortunately the Murderers fan's really live up to the team's name and Smerak never left those stand alive ::sniffs, pours some of his 40 out for his dead homie::

Team Notes: Ugh, the death of Smerak really hurts in a two round tourney with a rookie team. Luckily I had enough winnings, 80k, to replace him with either a Blitzer or a fourth BOB. I looked at our tourney and saw that on the other side of the bracket the finalist is waiting,

I decided on a BOB, as that team is superbashy and I will need all the str i can get. Not that I am looking past next matchup or anything. It looks to be an even more bloody affair as it's either Lizardmen or a BOB laden Orc team.
