After several requests from the DLE population... It's back!
Here is the Pre-Season 14 ARC.
32. Bel Aliad Griffins: Playing in the same division as the Champs is difficult. Add in the fact that the division also has one of the League's original coaches with his original franchise and that's an uphill battle. Then observe that the team is 1/1/12 under coach Grrrr... Jackson and Vea are Nice additions, but the lack of any ST4 sprinkled with little Guard fills my mind with lots of doubt about the Griffins flying any higher than last season.
31. Übersreik Unicorns: Everyone here knows that DLE Bloodbowl is a bit of a different monster. Well, the "Welcome to the DLE Tour" for Coach Wilson includes games against Misterlonestar, ChrisRatbane, ttorvatn, Spelledaren, Seventyone, and Bigf just to mention a few. Those few coaches have a combined 1120 DLE matches played. Experience matters in the DLE, and it can be a harsh reality for many newcomers. Here's to hoping Coach Wilson is intrepid enough to face that.
30. Carcassone Eagles: TBH it was difficult for me to type that. The Eagles belong to Remas... but I digress. Lots of +ST on this team, but also lots of injuries and 3 players with double niggles. Coach RavensFan (3/3/9) is still trying to get his DLE wings to flap correctly. No flying high, or soaring for these Eagles yet.
29. Lyonesse Patriots: Coach GiM (2/4/4) decided to do a major overhaul to the Pats this offseason. He decided to only retain services of Blitzer Emmith Smith, Catcher JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Lineman Dieter the Impaler. Light on Guard, light on +ST, light on +AV... seems long gone are the days of the once powerful Evil Empire from Broekwater. These Pats have their own path to blaze and the underbrush is really thick in the KFC West.
28. Wolfenburg Wolfskins: Coach Ratbane is hoping (every season) to regain that Season 10 magic. That is the only season since CR took over during season 6 that the Pelts have had a winning season and made the playoffs. I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't think 14 is his lucky number.
27. Volksgrad White Wolves: With only 3 wins last season, I don't think the offseason was special enough for VWW to make a big jump in the standings this season.
26. Skar Bay Sharks: The Era of the Guppies seems long gone. From Season 3 to the End of Season 7, the Sharks won 1 game and earned the nickname of the "Guppies" Because they had no bite. But this current version of the Sharks... I love the new logo, I love some of the offseason acquisitions. And those acquisitions are enough for them to jump to 3rd in the division, but probably not enough to make a big jump in the Conference or league standings.
25. Grenzburg Greenskins: It's almost as if making it to the Superb Owl in Season 8 was good enough for coach Matt. Since losing to the Evil Empire in that glorious game, the Orks have looked less than motivated. No playoff appearances, now 2 straight losing seasons. Do these Orks have no Greenskin Pride? I expect that Mr DLE himself Art Monk is growing weary as he attempts to carry this Franchise on his back season after season, with little help from teammates.
24. Fools Point Rangers: Speed, a little Extra Agility, no ST, no extra Armor, a little bit of Guard. This team almost seems to be the Anti-Meta. I applaud the GM for bucking the trend, but until I see results I can not jump on board. Good Luck!
23. Flashfurt Universe: This is tough, I am rusty. I think the Universe probably deserves a better ranking, but the field above them seems rather tight. I love the additions of Perine, Simmons, Sanders and Fenton. But after only 2 wins last season, it's tough to find a higher spot for them.
22. Kislev Cardinals: KFC North Division-mate Cards are just 1 spot above the Universe mostly based on the fact that Coach Jaskier defeated Flashfurt in his DLE debut and has a winning record in his fledgling DLE career.
21. San Luis 49ers: The Niners roster has some strengths, like the Lion of San Luis still going Strong after 171 matches in the DLE. But injuries are piling up and could result in decimation at any time. I place them toward the middle of the pack.
20. Carroburg Crimson Cascade: I have always loved 3C. I love the color scheme. I love the fluff. I love coach Torvatn. But I learned something new about the team not so long ago. CCC have never rostered a ST4 Blitzer in their 12 seasons of existence. I wonder if any other franchise can make that claim. I like this team, but nothing about it wows me, so therefore I place it in the middle of the pack as well.
19. Nuln Gunners: Coach Ben seems to running the Defensive experiment this season. He has a good bit of Defensive, a nice spattering of ST, a Monster Ogre, and Russell Wilson. He may be on the outside looking in, but if he can offer enough sacrifices to Nuffle, the playoffs are possible for the Awesome One.
18. Averheim River Bandits: I am a fan of Coach Karra But with the lack of non-AV stats on this team, I think he could struggle in the KFC East this season, as it has appeared to get a bit stronger.
17. Altdorf Thunderbolts: 71 has done his time. The coach hung in there where many would not and have not. Taking double beatings each season at the hands of the Evil Empire as well as experiencing the breaking of the Curse and starting to take beatings from Middenheim as well. But this could be his season. Playing in a weaker division than he is used to facing, combined with the schedule this season being friendly... (plays 6 games vs coaches with less than a full DLE season under their belts) is cause for excitement in Altdorf. I see a possible playoff berth for the Bolts.
16. Reikland Wreckers: The Wreckers made the playoffs last season on the coaching skills of coach Sharkrudi. New coach dieuraskel came in and rode those coattails pretty well after getting into the playoffs, Winning 2 playoff games. However, now he must do it all himself. This season the Wreckers start 0/0/0, not 8/5/2. And I have doubts about the continued success of the Wreckers. First, I wasn't a fan of their offseason moves. And Secondly with their new coach's brief history of success they are 0/0/2 in the SHC South.
15. Broekwater Bruisers: The Bruisers changed cities and now have a new look going into season 14. The offseason brought about 2 Big trades and no Draft Picks. Blitzer Saquon Barkley brings his desirable skillset and 2 seasons of experience from Los Cabos to lead the Bruisers Blitzer Corps and is joined by All-DLE Legendary Ogre Kendall Reyes of Patriots fame as the new players on a squad that went 3/0/3 since making a coaching change and moving to Broekwater.
14. Los Cabos Marauders: In viewing this team, initially I thought they looked a little weak (lack of +ST in the Linemen and Blitzer spots) but then I realized. The team practically has 8 Blitzers. Combine that with Paddy Mahomes and some guys with the ability to catch the ball in a pinch and it could be a recipe for success. However only 3 Guards on a team with no ST4 is a Red Flag for me. But Playoff for LCM would not surprise me.
13. Waldenhof Thunder: Sometimes the change of location of teams just saddens me. It just doesn't roll off the tongue the same way the Original did. (I still have problems with LA Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders and numerous other teams) But I think with the new coach at the helm the Thunder may slide a little but I currently still see the playoffs for them this season.
12. Mordheim Legion: Not a lot to say about this team other than it is a really solid roster with a proven coach with a winning DLE record. I see a trip to the post-season for the Legion.
11. Irrana Avalanche: There is a phenomenon called the Superbowl Hangover. In the NFL many times the loser of the Superbowl misses the playoffs the following season. I don't really think this has been a thing with the DLE's Superb Owl. However, if we look at history in season 4 the Avs lost the Superb Owl, and the following season they went 4/8/4 and missed the playoffs. I don't expect that big of a drop for them this season, I see them getting in possibly as a Wild Card.
10. Praag Grizzlies: The Grizzlies roster looks really solid. They have a quality coach. And are coming off of a successful season. I see repeated success, just maybe not quite as much with the return to prominence of a division rival.
9. Verezzo Razorbacks: The Hawgs roster looks very strong. If they can keep the Niggles on the field and on the roster, they can do big things this season.
8. Talabheim Sluggers: I am envious of the roster/takeover draft this coach inherited. But this roster combined with that Mean and Ugl coach could spell trouble for the KFC as a whole but especially the East Division.
7. Aldente Scimitars: The team once (affectionately) referred to as the Butterknives seems to have found the sharpener since moving to Aldente. They also seem to have overcome the Odd and Even phenomenon that cursed them in Wolsbach. The Roster is great. The Coach is great. Team should be in contention for the title.
6. Kemperbad Knights: Most of the injuries on this amazing team seem insignificant. And the Coach knows how to coach in the DLE. With only 2 losing seasons in 13 and a Trophy in Season 2, he is a demon to deal with. So be wary around midknight, because that is the time he is usually on the prowl. But similarly to the Scimitars, this is a well built team with a quality experienced coach.
5. Erengrad Vikings: After the first losing season in coach Spelledaren's DLE history, I fully expect him to rebound. IMO one of, if not the best coach in the league will once again flex on the league and be a contender for the title.
4. Aarnau Manticores: If in my mind there is an argument for the above statement then here is the source. Coach Hovring is amazing and has totally transformed this franchise from bottomfeeder to contender. With only 13 losses in 77 DLE matches, he certainly is a part of that Best Coach conversation. And the team is very well put together as well.
3. Brionnian Buccaneers: Really nice roster, with very successful DLE coach. Rumors are he is Slow and Boring. But so was the Tortoise and look what it did.
2. Marienberg Foxes: Damn I hate those fox tails. They are such an abomination. But there is no Denying Coach MLS's ability. And there is Certainly no denying the ability of Randy Savage and Ray Childress... I mean that pair of Blitzers is F@ck*ng Disgusting and should be illegal. Every coach in the KFC North should be ashamed of themselves for letting those 2 live for so long!
1. Middenheim Classics: Coach bghf has now won his second Trophy and doesn't look to be slowing down. Is the former home of "The Curse" now the home of the new "Evil Empire"?
