Lots of gamefinder spammers out there tonight
Putting every team you have on gamefinder suggests you are up for whatever. Not accepting any of the games you are offered is a waste of everyones time. Here I sit with 4 teams of varying size... checking out the 30 freaking teams you posted... offering 10 to 15 games only to see you turn tail and hide then return 10 minutes later with 30 teams. It wouldn't be so annoying if you were only offering up 5 teams or 10 teams. But to see 30 teams all night long... none of which you are actually willing to play is a real pain in the arse. I guess you are taking cherry picking to the highest possible level. You don't even offer me a single game you might like. Only 1 of 4 the teams I am posting is remotely scary... and it just has 3 or 4 Mighty Blow with ZERO Claw or Piling On or Dirty Player (although I really want a Dirty Player soon). SIGH. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LAME.

Putting a team on gamefinder doesn't mean you'll play whatever, it means you want to play a game with that team if it's a good matchup.

I put up a lot of teams. I won't play anything, but I do actively look for matchups. People who spam but don't offer, or even respond to offers, irritate the hell out of me as well.

Posting all your teams is unfortunately the only way to see all the other coaches' teams. Would be awesome with an option not to post any teams but just check out which teams are on.

Of course I have no idea if this is the reason people 'turn tail and hide then return 10 minutes later with 30 teams' ...

Probably not. He probably red flagged the matches, and then they all came back after 10 mins.

I rarely actively offer games because then I feel more like a picker than when others offer me a game in my favor and I accept. At least I usually only activate one team. ;-)

You mean PickerView(TM)

Current gamefinder design is aimed toward those who want to play with specific teams and tries to find opportunities for them. The above request would turn it into an African waterhole, with hyenas and lions waiting for that first dumb zebra to go for a drink.

I usually activate 5-6 ranked teams and 3-4 League teams at the same time. That way I can have choice in my match ups.

As 3 of the R teams I activate are Wood Elves / Underworld and Ogres I have to be picky else I would always be playing Chaos and Dwarves evey night. I always get challanged with these teams the moment I join!!

I do not decline them instantly I look to see if there are better offers on options first, usually there is and so I take them. I do not think these initial challenegers are pickers as they are just offering a game they are happy to play.

At the same time they need to respect that my Ogres do not want to play Chaos with 11 tackle and M Blow and Claw. If that makes me a picker then so be it, but i would rather spend an hour of my life playing a game I think I can win or lose narrowly with some form of team after the game, than an hour watching it destroyed and no chance of winning. So yes i admit i probably play a higher proportion of my games against some races than others with certain teams.

If you want people to play your team automatically when challeneged THEN we will have a problem with pickers as ythey will all be circling like sharks with ytheir one uber-team for someone to pop up in front of them.

Remember it is a free leisure site and no one should be forced to play a game they do not want to play and waste an hour of their life satisfying someone elses perception of coaching ettiquete.

Also I would add that many coaches activate several teams so they have options at different TR in both Ranked and L. Maximises the chance of finding a suitable game.

Many people are not keen on having to wait 11 hours in Gamefinder with their one team at a set TR level looking for an oppo :-P

What I do now is put a load of teams on gamefinder, all of the ones I'm not bored with and would possibly play a game with, then activate in box. I'll see what I get offered and take a game only if it's a good match up, the coach ain't on my blacklist, and I have time to de-activate in box. If I fail to get a box game i'll then go on gamefinder and start offering games. So sometimes it looks like the teams are sitting there doing nothing for a while.
I plan to create a lot more box teams when the pink slip death match thing is done.

1-3 teams I wanna play.
No go?
Add a couple of more teams.

Don't worry Cat, I would always play a game against you.

I see this all the time. I now just spam my 5 teams and wait for someone to offer me a game. Unless I play all zombies or Stunty teams the sissy ranked coaches won't play me. Yes I do think it's personal as in they only play experienced and lower. I guess they are waiting for the great gobbo to show for an easy win. It's one of those things you must just brush off and forget about.

I try to activate no more than 4 teams at the same time since that is about all I can keep track of. I don't see how coaches who put 10+ games on gamefinder can do it (keep track). It becomes very difficult to sort through 40+ potential matchups, at least for me. If there was going to be any change to the gamefinder, I'd like the refresh time for hitting 'no thank you' to a potential matchup to be a bit longer. Right now it seems to be 3 minutes.

I'm living there, i see all sort of peoples, it's like standing on a bridge and watching the boats.

When I'm feeling snarky I'll put up Woodies or Underworld alongside my other teams just to see what ridiculous offers I get. Then when they get the inevitable offer from CDs or max-MB Orcs, I redlight all of that coach's other teams. I call this "playing Gamefinder". It's not Blood Bowl but it's something to do in the meantime.

Do I have Goblins anywhere but 145 League? idk
Posted by the_Sage on 2014-10-20 10:26:50
Nice one fidius. =D I do something similar: if someone offers to play my flings with his dorfs, I offer him my cdorfs instead. =D
Or if I'm feeling really nasty, or I know the coach always offers plays clawpomb spam cdorfs vs clawless teams, or killer zons vs tackle-less teams (you know whom I mean), I'll do the following:

Hit accept, while on the 'confirm' page, go get a glass of water and drink it, then come back and hit decline. If the offer is made again, rinse and repeat.
