Mooh!

I always imagined the Roid Rage Babes in pink, and yes, a tooled up mino is awesome (dice willing) - chaos take a while to build but once you get some hitting power then watch out! To effectively play chaos, you have to become a killer....on that note don't underestimate guard and tackle on your killers, both are essential tools at higher TV as well as the odd grab/frenzy/jug to deal with fend/ss....
And before you get the usual clawPOMB hate, remember it's no less a valid tactic in Blood Bowl than tooling up to elfball or building 1 turners.....
BLOOD!!!!

I've also struggled with Chaos but I like the team in theory because I think the mutation access makes for some interesting builds. I also like the idea of taking the Minotaur as he can be a powerful, albeit unpredictable, tool on the field. I'll probably give them another spin at some point this year. Good luck to you, it's always fun to see a team with a theme and fluff. What are you using to make your logos?

Thanks! I'm using "Gimp 2" which is a photo editor and some effective google searching! For most teams, I have the name first, and then just do a thorough search until I find a one or a few images that I like that I can put together to make a logo, etc. I often will use something like powerpoint to make the text, etc.
For this one, since I was creating a new team, I did some thorough searching for a team name based on availability on Fumbbl and pretty much a logo or something that I liked. I found the "Corner of Chaos" text portion on google so I decided to make that my team name. I had already found some other fun images that I wanted to maybe mix in (e.g., the mino)... And using Gimp 2 I was able to easily put the two together... I think it looks good!
The mino originally came in red, but I changed the colour of his jersey to pink to match the team's theme... Which I think was fitting! :)
Unfortunately, I have been informed that since the player photos contain photos of actual miniatures that they aren't allowed to be used on fumbbl (something about copyright...)... I've asked all my lawyer friends and their answer was basically, there's no way that they would actually win a lawsuit regarding copyright for these images; however, if the fumbbl admins make a rule, you must follow it... If they say no pictures of puppies... Then well, no pictures of puppies! :(.
So, I'm now in the process of changing the images... Unfortunately, that will very, very likely ruin my theme :D

Going for a puppy theme instead?

I had a few ideas...
Idea 1:
- Beastmen as tiger/jaguar/lion warriors
- Medieval/fantasy warriors
Idea 2:
- Mass girl demons
Idea 3:
- Puppies/dogs dressed up as people... This one is starting to appeal to me :)

To clarify your points. Firstly it's not pictures of actual miniatures that is a problem, but GW intellectual property. So if you can prove that the pictures (of miniatures) are not from GW, they are allowed. On the other hand though, drawn pictures (by GW) or official Licensed pictures (Cyanide or Warhammer Online) are not allowed.
Well Christer is just a regular guy with a hobby. Would you want to risk being taking to court or a hobby, even if you were likely to win? When removing what they asked was doable? The answer is the same for all of us, it just isn't worth it. It's far too late anyway. At the time if somebody wanted to do the legal side then they should have stepped forward and taken all accountability if they were so sure. Now all they asked to be removed has been removed, and it's not worth the risk to the site in letting any GW intellectual property creep back in. It's a shame, I'd prefer my team pics being official figures, but it's just not worth causing an issue over.
This isn't an Admin rule, this is Christer's rule to protect himself. The staff have no opinion in a situation like this, but are requested to uphold Christer's decision.
For us, it's our responsibility to make sure any pictures we use are not GW or GW licensed. We need to be responsible for that to protect the site and Christer.

Also, are your lawyer friends up to speed on European IP law, specificly Sweedish IP law?
GW are notorious for protecting their IP, keeping GW images off the site is an easy compromise. Plenty of other pictures out there to use.

Of course I don't expect Christer to want to get used by GW... The pictures that I used were not drawn by GW, they were pictures that some guy posted on a blog of his miniatures. He had a really nice paint job / theme, so I took his pictures and cropped them, etc.
I didn't understand why that would be a problem. After discussing with several of my lawyer friends, apparently GW would still retain copyright over the images since they were the original maker of the product (this was certainly not obvious to me)... The blogger 'owns' the images too. Basically, what they all said is that there's no way GW wins a lawsuit on it but that it would certainly be a pain to go through the process.
I think GW is just annoyed that they didn't think to put together an online system like FUMBBL and now are being cry babies, sending out cease-and-desist letters to individuals that run not-for-profit websites...
To clarify, while I am annoyed that I had to change my theme, I do understand the rules and have followed them... I just think it's silly because I've seen TONS of player photos that 100% came from pictures of BB miniatures that are approved by admins (as my photos were) and being used regularly.

My Nurgle team has suffered at the hands of your evil chaos team. It's sad.

Those pictures weren't GW minis though, they were one of the new 3rd party teams, I forget which maunfacturer. So in theory, if you upload an image saying 'not GW miniatures', or catch an admin with approval powers and give them a link to the actual manufacturers site, something along those lines, they would be approvable.
While you might see other player pics of BB minis, they are almost never GW ones. That did used to be much more common, but then GW had their little tantrum a few years back. So now the ones you see are almost always made by other manufacturers, and therefore completely legitimate to use.
Posted by harvestmouse on 2015-04-26 14:10:30
Yeah you can do that, just make sure you are 100% certain they are or aren't GW figures.
'Those pictures' refers to? If footballolb16's pictures, then the CWs were definitely GW. I have no idea of the others, if you can prove they are not GW figs then they would be fine.
Posted by xnoelx on 2015-04-26 20:55:11
Yes, I was referring to the pictures he originally had on the team. After checking, they were the Chaos team made by Willy Miniatures, which you can see here: http://www.comixininos.com/blood-bowl-teams/caos/complete-teams/kaos-team-of-13-players-willy.html (including the CWs).

Sorry, but you're wrong. The CWs were part of this team http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/492906.page they are GW BB figs with Warhammer head swaps. I'm not sure about the beastmen, however the mino was different to the Willy one.
The bottom line though, is you need to be sure before uploading pics.
Posted by xnoelx on 2015-04-27 01:10:59
It's possible. I remember the beastmen (or some of them at least) were definitely the Willy ones, I was less sure about my memory of the rest.
