Elf Yourself Collapse in Crown of Sands Bitter Defeat
The stage was set for our Crown Of Sand VII: Qualifier VII Finals victory. It was a tough game for Elf Yourself, but we felt in control for most of it. It was really a game of missed opportunities on our part and seized opportunities for our opponent. See Match Report for more details.

Just when it seemed like we had the game in hand, our opponent managed a relatively challenging T15 score to tie it up 2-2. We had an opportunity for a OTT to win the game, but our first action required a leaping blitz from our 5 ag All-Star Wardancer, Tinaglanb Brushdash. Unfortunately, this would be the last action taken by Tinaglanb in his incredible career, as he snake-eyed the leap, landed awkwardly, and died, pushing the game to OT.

The loss of their captain and best player was too much to overcome, as we lost the coin toss, and eventually, the game. The long term effects of this loss will be crushing to the team's morale. Tinaglanb was this team. He led our squat to an incredible 20/1/3 record, winning a B-Minor, a Black Box Brawl, and the 2515 Wood Elf Black Box 'Team of the Year' award, along the way. For a while now, Elf Yourself has only played in tournament games, so as to prolong the benefits of some of our star players.

The loss of Tinaglanb puts us back to the drawing board, a task which will be quite difficult given my current real-life scenario. My BB time is quite limited, so it was nice always having 'Elf Yourself' tournament-ready. This will no longer be the case. However, I will have to find a way to find the time to re-ready the team to compete in the next tournament. The show must go on. RIP Tinaglanb! Thank you for 24 amazing games and so much overall success.

In light of Tinaglanb's unexpected death, Wardancer Gabriella DeVille will assume the role of team captain. She has certainly earned it, having been voted tournament MVP during our B-Minor tournament victory (although, arguably, Tinaglanb may have been the better vote), and being voted team tournament MVP for our most recent loss in the Crown of Sands.

Finally, aspiring Wardancer Bud Hardwood has joined the squad and is eager to play his first game and show us what he can do. He's got large shoes to fill and he knows it... But maybe, just maybe, he'll be up for the challenge!
