After an incredible tournament run, Elf Yourself, completed the journey today with a 2-1 victory in the finals against a tough Dwarf team, Mining Bs, now falling to 9/3/2.

It was a tough journey for the wood elves, facing Orc twice, Khemri once, Undead once, and finally Dwarf in the finals. Here is a brief summary of each game.

Round 1: 2-1 W vs. Orc Splintered Bone Stompas
5 Ag wardancer Tinaglanb Brushdash piled up 10 SPP (MVP included) while harassing the Orc ball-carriers all game long, finally getting the game winning completion. We jumped to a 2-0 lead and the Orcs could only add a late

Round 2: 3-2 W vs. Orc Slice 'n' Dice
With one wardancer missing the game, we managed to harass the orc ball carriers all game long with 1 BD strip ball hits, and eventually a -2 BD strip ball hit, but they were bitter sweet since we consistently missed the pick-up and/or tripped on the dodge after the pickup. The game went into OT tied 2-2 where it felt like whichever team received would win as we were down in personnel (11 vs 7). The Orc received, but a successful -2BD strip ball hit, jarred the ball loose, where we eventually managed to score. 5 Ag wardancer Tinaglanb Brushdash was the star of the game with numerous 1 BD and -2 BD hits vs the ball carrier. Catcher Lilraar Emberdreamer finished it off with 2 TDs.

Round 3: 4-0 W vs. Khemri Foul play!
The dice were in our favour in this one, with wardancer Gabriella DeVille eager to play returning from injury! She piled up 4 casualties (3 of which were not regenerated!) and adding a TD of her own. Most notably, she permanently reduced the strength of the Khemri throw-ra. The early loss of the throw-ra left the Khemri team unable to secure the ball, leading to two 5 Ag wardancer Tinaglanb Brushdash strips/sacks, who gained zero SPP in the match but constantly freed the ball to allow others to score.

Round 4: 2-1 W vs. Undead Tous au Parking !!
A very tough match against an excellently coached team. The undead team came into the match with a 27/4/2 record. Their Block/Fend/Side Stepping ghoul was very difficult to a deal with this game, we had very little success sacking the ball carrier. An undead fireball took out 3 players (ball carrier and two protectors) but we managed to recover and score going up 2-1. With 2 turns left and out of RRs, the undead team tried to push for an equalizer, we defended it well forcing some very tough dice with no RR that all succeeded in order to get a player into the end zone to attempt a short pass in the sun, which succeeded but thankfully the ghoul dropped the ball in the endzone ending the game.

Round 5: 2-1 W vs. Dwarf Mining Bs
A very tough match-up in which we constantly landed 1 and 2 BD hits (Wrestle) vs. the ball carrier without success. With the score 1-1 and 6 turns remaining, the ball exchanged possessions about 4 times in 2 turns (with each team taking turns recovering a bouncing ball) until finally, on turn 15, we were able to 2BD sack (wrestle) the ball carrier, dodge twice, scoop the ball and pass it to our awaiting catcher for the game winning and tournament winning score!

It was a toss up for tournament MVP between both Gabriella DeVille and Tinaglanb Brushdash. Gabriella missed game 2 while Tinaglanb made his presence (and 5 ag) known in each match. That being said, Gabriella single-handedly won us game 3 accumulating 4 cas + a TD and won us the finals with her wrestling ball-sacking skills, and finally her scoop and tournament-winning TD pass.

This brings Elf Yourself's overall record to 13/1/1, an impressive 90% win rate! We look forward to seeing if the team can keep it up in the very nasty Box environment! The tournament winnings were put to good use, hiring two more woodelf lineman, bringing the team to a total of 12 players.
